They call the above advertising. Can you convince me that 2 folks just happened to hit the server for Milwaukee 3 hours apart?????? How funny.
Annnnnnd they knew the exact hours of this clinic?
Give me a break. We are not stupid.
Great try from the new guys.... Mike was this your idea?

Kinda like when the Republicans came to set up shop in the lobby out there. That was hysterical. The attempt was also blatent at trying to keep their high paying jobs. This is the same thing.
We in this area are not stupid. Well, only if we fall for this crap.

I don't recall the entire article, however a lot of the information posted on here was in the Sunday newspaper a week or so ago. So, the poster may have had the intent to inform people of what they knew. And no matter their intent, this is a news and information forum. So if business people find a way to get their product out to the people cheaply and quickly, all the better. That would serve well to keep prices competitive. Please don't make a mountain out of a mole hill.

how much do they charge for a new patient?

How long did you have to wait to be seen?

go there if you want to be taken care of by a nurse. those doctors there are too busy tending to their medical business and holding political functions to fight health care reform to see and take care of you. they are just trying to make as much money as they can before obama health care reform.

the only one i know is at kneibert. i usually just see my own doctor, but many people i know go to kneibert urgent care. they are open all the time and you always get to see one of the real doctors who is on call just for urgent care.

a nurse would be ok if you just had a cold, IF they gave you a discount. i dont want to see a nurse and pay the same rate as the doctor. that is one way they could cut down health care costs, if the nurses who think they are doctors charge a cheaper rate, but they dont. the doctors charge the patient the same, pay the nurse less, and make money all the way to the bank. if i pay for a doctor, i am going to insist on seeing a doctor. period.

i also don't want my family seeing a stupid nurse when they are sick and the problem is not apparent. just about any mother who has taken care of their family could do as well as those nurses.

Do you mean an RN or a Nurse Practitioner? There is a big difference. I agree with you about the charges though. I have always wondered that myself. Why am I paying for a Doctor but getting a nurse?
I don't mind to see an NP for certain things but if I think there might be something seriously wrong with me I want a doctor please!

Family nurse practitioners are perfect for urgent cares anywhere. They are trained to treat primary care issues. And learn to do chronic illnesses by necessity.
As far as seeing a "stupid nurse" I wouldn't want to see one either. And having said that I need to say I wouldn't want a "stupid" doctor/ lawyer/ plumber/ electrician/ labtech/ english teacher/.... well you get the idea.
It is not the profession... it is the person.

in this case, i must respectfully disagree; it is the profession, not the person. i agree with the prior posts that recognize that it is unfair for a nurse to charge the same rate as a doctor. i also agree that a nurse, or a "family nurse practitioner," as you call it, doesn't know a whole lot more than a mother who has raised her kids and seen them through dozens of illnesses and injuries.

a nurse can take care of a basic cough and cold pretty much as well as a mother or a patient who has the cough or cold can themself. the key reason for the visit is to make sure that something more serious than a cough or cold is not really going on. you really need a doctor with years of training and experience to do that, not a nurse with one degree from TRCC and another from the internet.

also if the nurse is going to treat the patient, they should charge less than the doctors. the urgent care nurses, or "nurse practictioners" dont. the funny thing is that the prior post mentioned is that the doctors own the urgent care, charge the same for nurse, pay them less, and pocket the difference. i don't guess many people have thought enough about this to see how slick it is.

that is not fair to the patient. or the nurse "practictioner" for that matter.
