Oh, can't forget going out and trying to see the light on the haunted train tracks and scaring the crap out of ourselves.

I remember going to a place called Pottengers and buying used comic books for a nickle each.
Mr Pottenger did radio repairs as his main business, and was always very patient with me hanging around looking at comics.

Great guy.

So, SmileyFace, does it make you feel old when they turn your elementary school into a museum?
Ouch! That one hurt. They could have at least put statues of us playing tether ball out front, don't ya think?

I loved that school. Still remember praying and praying not to get Ms. Crabtree for a teacher (not sure why now) and then hoping to get Ms. Arnold because she allowed you to get a drink in the classroom anytime you wanted. Funny what's so important to a kid!

Remember the days of getting to dress like the 50s or 60s? Apparently, now the kids are doing the 80s! My nephew had dress-up day at junior high last year where they could dress like the 80s. He didn't even know what to wear! Now that made me feel old.

Tons of good PB memories as a kid - Skate City, football games, Wilcox bridge, movies, the bowling alley, skipping school, party house in the hood, etc. Ohhhh..to be a kid again...

Good memories, makes one soul smile. good for the heart, not to hear the negative of PB.
Life in the country is by far different and taming to the mind. You can smell the Spring time there and the chill of winter brings back security of staying in doors and making the best of what you had. Thanks to our grandparents that kept us together.
Looking for you

Mike: I have been in Arizona over 47 yrs now minus 5 in California. I am still not use to the heat we have and now we go for months without any rain. I guess you would say its beautiful here in the spring and winter, summers is a tough time for me.... If you like sunshine 364 days out of the year... come on out........:)

Best memory? That's a tough one! There are so many good memories to choose from from year to year. The best memories from every year of growing up in Poplar Bluff involve girls and/or music.

Did anyone go to Kinyon elementary back in early 70's? You had to get on a bus to eat cafeteria food at ANOTHER grade school...

Getting dropped off at the movies and going anywhere but there and Skate City-when I was too young to drive. I walked all over this town then! Good memories with KI.
