Just for the record, donít do business with Larry Hillis Dodge. They are the most cut throat, lying unethical hypocritical group of individuals Iíve ever come across. Iím referring to salesmen and women up to the owners. They will lie and cheat you out of every hard earned dollar they can. Oh, they put on a a good front, They go to church, play Christian music at the dealership, and one is even a preacher. Donít let any of that fool you! They are the dirtiest car dealership in town, with the dirtiest ruthless tactics and people. So If you do, do business with them, GOD help you.. Youíre going to need it! From now on I'm doing business at Dexter, Malden or Cape.

I 'll tell you waht 'Funny', Just go deal with them and you will see, first hand. Better yet. Buy a vechicle from them and let them service it. There's no negotiating there, they really break it off in you then!

And no I didn't try and trade a pinto. I do have common sense. I actually have a couple degrees and I'm able to make sensible decisions. I just don't like being treated like I'm stupid, then lied to, and disrespected. Just a bunch of snakes slithering around on the lot.

First off you went to buy a dodge there's your first mistake second you went to a dealership for service and tried to negotiate a price. If you have as many degrees as you claim you should know you can't haggle when they have a flat rate per hr for labor and you can clearly see how much the parts are listed for

I moved here from Florida after retirement and needed to get my caravan inspected. Took it in and waited for it. Service guy comes and starts telling me what all I "needed" to get it inspected...and the total cost was going to be around $300.00 for parts and labor. I was stunned since my certifed mechanic husband had already checked it out and deemed it fine. I explained that to the service manager and told them they were wrong, to no avail, they failed me anyway. I was royally pissed since noone but my husband has ever worked on that van, and we bought it new. I promptly took it it another shop (outside the area) and it passed just fine, as I knew it would. Went back and told one of the managers, Matt, about my situation and his response was not very friendly or very courteous. When he said that my husband probally didn't know what he talking about I had to laugh since my husband has been a Chrysler certified mechanic for about 35 years now and has been in a teaching position for about 15 of those years....joke was on him!!! Needless to say they will NEVER get my business ever again. So yeah, not a good bunch of people to be doing business with, in spite of their Christian music playing!!!

Well since I have children and grandchildren living in the area and we are originally from the area I guess we can go where we want to go, now can't we. And what makes you think my husband is not much of a mechanic since he TAUGHT others, as an instructor, how to be a mechanic. Some things never change, that being the limited mentality of people in Poplar Bluff!

I bought my jeep from hillis dodge and would again. I got a great deal and terrific service. And as far as their service dept, I dont have to worry about it cause my husband does all of our repair work himself. I would never take my vehicle to a dealership to get an inspection. You are opening up to trouble. Go to somewhere like Richards Roadware or Alans muffler. They do them without problems, unless your vehicle is a piece of crap.

I've bought many vehicles from Hillis with no unusual troubles. I've never had any vehicle that was perfect and I've always wished I could have gotten things cheaper but I research before I buy and work out the best deal I can or I walk away. I realize the Hillis family are in business to make money but I find them to be pretty good people.

If your husband was such a great mechanic why did he not go with you all you have to do is walk out there and they'll show you what's worn on the vehicle. My father was a mechanic in poplar bluff for 25 years he was certified and worked for dealerships and worked other shops like cash's and crow tire and if someone asked why they needed something replaced he'd show them. So maybe the lesson here is if you have a certified mechanic in the family and need your car worked on at least take them with you

The best dealerships around are Blackwell Baldwin they didn't get that big from screwing people over we've had great luck not a single one of our cars has ever had any issues besides a flat tire ..

We wemt to the big sale this weekend and found a 2009 F250 we wanted. Saleman would never give us a price so I looked it up on their web site. They were asking $27,450 on the web... they offered us $5000 trade on our vehicle with a $2500 off for the sale but then said that their asking price was $34500 ... they said it was a mistake !!!! funny how the #'s play out to be paying what they wanted for the truck and then they have my truck to be able to sell for 100% profit !!! Mistake ?? I don't think so.. they were just pulling a scan and calling it a sale !!!

Took my ram to them awhile back to get a part fixed that was covered under warranty and they found out I baught it from another dealership then all of a sudden they refused to fix it ... Said it was wrecked .. Well I took them the carfax proving its never been wrecked . Still refused to fix it . So I took it to dodge store in dexter and 10 mins later it was fixed with no problems... Yes he has kids out there brainwashed in high pressure sales tactics. I looked out there and had to block Larry hillis from my phone they called everyday. Went to blackwell dodge in dexter and bought a truck and it was a very good experience. No pressure. Gonna go get my wife a car now.

Don't be fooled by the Christian music playing on the show floor because they are anything but . Their reputation in Poplar Bluff is that of being predators on the unsuspecting elderly and Christians . I had a terrible experience here and would not recommend it to anyone . The sales manager Joe Reilly is the biggest hypocrite in Poplar Bluff saying praise the Lord out of one side of his mouth and telling a dirty joke out the other , while teaching his sales force to be taking advantage of those who are trusting . Buyer beware . Shame on Larry Hollis Dodge .
