I just heard that 303 is moving out of downtown. What will all the drunks do when they don't want to go to a nearby bar? Why would they want to end a Poplar Bluff tradition?

Wow! The only store in town where you can buy booze, porn and survival gear all in the same place. Actually, I haven't been in there in years, but it was a fun place years ago.

I loved 303 before the hoovers sold it. Everytime you went in there was something different.
The new owners just don't get it....

the guy running the 303 has no class and is utterly clueless. hell when i walked into the store there were fingerprints smeared on the front glass doors and a hand written sheet of paper sign taped to the glass door saying "this establishment is not open to the general public". what the fuk? later i was told it was cause of "porno" mags which must have be hidden under counter. so anyway there were empty spaces on the shelves and a lack of stock. when hoover and his lovely wife ran that store he kept it stuffed to the rafters with the state of the art in hunting and fishing gear. and he didn't let no puritan protestants tell him what kind of magazines could be displayed for us kids to peruse at will. this guy let the sign and whole business fall apart and really was out of his depth. you got to make a store a pleasure to be in. the hoovers were classy people and ran a first class 303.

Does anyone know when the "303" originally opened? I heard that it opened in 1940s, but I only remember it in the early 1950s. willby wrote: I just heard that 303 is moving out of downtown. 303 is a downtown landmark. It just won't be the same once it moves.

Every month I would buy my Playboys there in the late 70's. It made me popular with my friends for sure.
