It isn't a horrible subdivision, good working class, retired people, but some houses have been on the market for over a year in Bluff Estates. There are newer subdivisions that will have houses in your range, sadly, quite a few people in town are losing their homes because of the sub-prime lending debacle has raised their monthly payments out of sight. You could get a real deal, and most people are decent enough not to destroy the homes, but have it inspected,of course. I wish you well and hope your family finds a good deal.

Would not mind joining the pool group, but it always seems to be full of little kids. I dont enjoy kids screaming and splashing. Would want to be able to relax. I dont want to ruin their good time either, so I just dont participate. Maybe if they had a few adults only hours.

I grew up in Bluff Estates and when the pool first opened, there was no fee for property owners.
I believe, but am not certain, that Paul Inman(contractor)and Bud Holloway(realtor)were related and the funds to build the pool might have come from the sale price of the homes constructed there.
Other than for the 'pill hill' area, so called because of the doctors who lived there, NOT because of drug users - Bluff Estates was one of the FIRST subdivisions in Poplar Bluff. It too, was an upgraded housing area for professionals in town.
It WAS a great place to grow up back then and with the proper upkeep, should keep going strong...

I do wish more people would buy pool memberships or at least donate a little bit of money for the upkeep of the pool and picnic area. How many people even realize there is a nice area below to pool? We could have a few nice picnic tables with grills, maybe even a volleyball pit.
You both need to watch your mouths! Why don't you and Bad ride over there and ring the door bell and tell him to his face you think he is a drug dealer. Tell him you think he can't fight and anything else you two faced piece of shits think of him. Because I want to drive by and watch you get your ass beat in the ground. He is my friend and he is a very nice person.I'm sorry to see him move when his house sells. Come knock on my door and I'll drive you over to his house so you can tell him to his face. I live at 2028 Meadows Road!
Now why don't you run your mouth about a few houses on sunset that need cleaned up or a few houses on Snider Road. Do I need to name names or street numbers?

Well since you quoted me, I will respond. I said that is who I bet was being accused because I myself have heard his name (which I did not mention) associated with the local drug culture.

As far as the "wannabe MMA fighter" comment. How as I wrong? He is. That wasn't an insult in the least.

well lets see. if you have a few titles and a contract with a national mma affiliate i dont think that would be considered a wannabe, rather a succesful mma fighter in the least.just because he is from the bluff he is a wannabe? i dont see where that word can even be loosly used considering his success.is it just because you may not have any idea of the mma?

as far as any drugs are concerned you are way the hell off on any accusations hearsay or not.he is a hard working person that has done well for himself and some people cant handle when people do well and start running there mouths.

What's this conversation have to do with whether someone would want to live in Bluff Estates?
Answer: It doesn't. Bluff Estates continues to be a great place to raise a family....
The people here are making waves over ONE person, and the false accusation about their alledged drug use.
Sounds like any typical conversation on this forum to me...

It is an awesome place to live. It is one of the more desirable subdivisions in Poplar Bluff. The homes are nice and the landscaping and trees are mature. I like it better than the newer subdivisions that dont have nice trees and character. Make a drive through and see for yourself. Talk to some of the residents. I know nothing about a drug dealer. My neighbors are quiet and friendly and maintain their homes exceptionally well. No complaints.

THAT'S the kind of post the Texas family should be reading, and others should accept for the way Bluff Estates REALLY is....

Is it just me or is Bluff really changing...for the worst. Seems like the redneckers are hijacking the town...the hatred for blacks, gays, any minority group seems earth shattering to me. I lived there many years ago and seemed much nicer then...Maybe just the perception I have gotten from topix and driving through my old home area on vine street and a big part of downtown...I wonder what happened to my home town...I know there are many McMansions and very nice areas of town, but the vibes I get when I visit are pretty rough...gun totin rednecks pretty scary...AND to the folks from Texas, I so do hope I am wrong...I hope it is still a wonderful place to grow up in...But I am not sure anymore...Please someone tell me I am wrong...I hope so....
