The Mules looked great tonight against a tough opponet who they dominated by the way. 1-0 step one to being a great team, Union out of suburban STL. I think it can happen this year, I feel something. One good stat from tonight is the Mules took the ball away six times three of those were interceptions one for six. The three INTs are exactly half of the team interceptions from last season. All of the mistakes tonight just seemed like first game mistakes that will be fixed once the season picks up. So Go MULES!

Don't want to interject too many negatives here as a win is a win to start the season-but Union is a different team this season than in years past..
They've gone 58-12 over the last six seasons, but their head coach left last year and came over to coach Jackson and they had something like 4 returning starters for the season opener against our Mules....
Good win for the Mules for sure, but you can't use it as a barometer for how our season's going to go, either....
Keep fighting every game, Mules!
We ALL believe!!

You would think Poplar Bluff just won the State Championship the way everyone was carrying on after the game tonight. It was one game on opening night! Let's see how the rest of the games go before we start slapping each others butts!

No it's not a state championship but it's a win that set the team in the right direction at the beginning of the season. Winning the opener, especially at home, is a major confidence booster for a team and confidence, not cockiness, in yourself is a factor that makes a good team. A large school who has lost six in a row could lose to a much smaller school who is undefeated all because their confidence is shot. There were several factors in the Mules victory tonight. I think Union and PB were very equally matched but due to offensive mistakes from Union that the Mules capitalized on, Union lost their confidence early on and the Mules gained it. One thing that suprised me was no fumbles on the QB/Center exchange for the Mules and the ball was not turned over once and in week 1 no matter how good your opponet is having zero turnovers is a positive.

Tonight was a great win for the Mules. However, it will most likely be the last win of the season. Most likely the same old crap will come out as it does every year. Our school system is so stupid and run so crappy that the Mules do NOT stand a chance to be3 anything. There is too much politics involved and the coach that sucks the superintendants dick the best is named head coach. Its the "good ol boys" and that is why the Mules will never have another good season.

Another thing, why the Hell are there about 50 faculty down on the sidelines? I think that its just that they have to be seen. IDIOTS!

I think the supernintendendt is suckin this coach's wang. They had to do something like that to get him away from his alma mater and hire him for a second time. This isn't one of those "good ol boy" coaches this is a good ol coach. In his last tenure here only his first season was sub par. He had his players believing that they could win, their CONFIDENCE was high, and that's a sign of a good coach, you have your players believing in themselves.
As for the 50 faculty on the sideline, I notice that too. They feel a sense of entitlement but that field is only for the folks involved in three activities, football, cheer, and marching band so if you're not staff of those get in the stands.

When you guarantee a state championship you had better deliver.

You guys are talking about a high school team right? So don't compare them to a real sports team or to retarded people.

I actually do. I do go out of town a bunch but it's mostly for pro wrestling and shockingly MLB. I've been to about six WWE shows, two Cardinals vs. Cubs games, and the All Star Game all this year. Right now I'm saving money for a trip to New York for WrestleMania week next year. A few days at WrestleMania Access fan convention, an Indy show, the Hall of Fame ceromony at Madison Square Garden, and finally WrestleMania in Metlife Stadium.

who brought this coach here?he had a losing record in his years in la. just look it up in his hometown records. did the schoolboard not double check the findings of this committee before they hired him? what does this committee get out of this deal? probably playing time for their own kids .
