What's the age a child get to choose what parent they want to live with?

i have custody of my son, but im a single mother and only get 35 wk child support that was set when my ex was drawing unemployment 5 yrs ago, now my ex has his own business and would like to try and get a little more child support, i also carry insurance on my son, but i'm afraid if i try and get more he will try to sue for custody, he is remarried and i'm not, my son wants to continue to live with me, would the judge listen to him being 12 yrs old?

chances are the judge will agree, and you don't even have to go to court to up the child support. Just go to the child support office, they'll help you.

Use to be at 12 yrs old the child chooses on thier own and can hire their own lawyer without a fee. So they can settle this mess. I know been there and done that with my girls. Child support won't do anything but write what he owes to u and ur stuck with nothing.. Talk to several lawyers and get different opinions be4 taking any actions. there is free advise.

call the childsupport office and ask for a modifaction in the support if it has not been done in the last 3 years and they will send you the papers to fill out along with the father. child support usually does not go before judge unles it is over custody but you can ask for a change in support amount You need to call the main office in Kansas and talk to them hope that helps just went thru child support change also.
