Just to let everyone know, there are going to be some new laws next year regarding landowner hunting permits. If the new laws go into effect, you will have to own 80 continious acres to be eligable for a landowner tag. Also the price of a tag will go from $17.00 to $22.00. There is a public comment period ffrom Nov. 16 until Dec. 16 to hear what MO residents think. I urge everyone to contact MDC on their website and fill out the public comment section under the new regulations section. Let them know they're taking more of our rights as taxpaying American citizens. Let them know ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
Thanks for your interest and help. Mad Max

It looks like the new regulation for landowner permits is 80 acres or more...

Every small landowner needs to FLOOD our state reps and senators with letters against this. Not just our own reps, but those all over the state.

PB Mules, glad to see this aggervates you as much as me, but we will have to FLOOD the MDC website as well. I have contacted Senator Rob Mayer about this and he replied via E-mail that the House and Senate have little or no control over these new regulations because they have a dedicated tax to fund them. However, if they get tired of hearing from us, and know the majority of their electorate are against these new regs, I'm sure they can apply pressure where necessary. Thanks to everyone for spreading the word, JUST REMEMBER, CONTACT THOSE IN CHARGE

I think alot of people don't realize what's happening. Especially if they didn't see it in the paper. I think I will visit the above website and print them off along with who they should contact. Then put them on the counter at work.

According to the MDC website, only 5,000 landowners are effected by increasing the land size. I suppose it's not enough we pay property tax. TAX,TAX,TAX. Everyone should re-read the Boston Tea Party.

I find it hard to believe only 5,000 people in the state own 5 to 80 acres. But then again after other stunts they (MDC) have pulled I find it HARD TO BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY SAY. Even if this is true, what happens when they expand it further. They will try to take our rights slowly so that at no one time does everyone stand up to them. Just because it may not effect you now, I assure you sometime in the near future it will.
Thanks, MAD MAX

This is all about raising money. I'm not a land owner, or a hunter, but someone with around 40 acres has plenty of room to hunt safely. I find it silly that you would even need a permit to hunt on your own land anyway.

l during deer hunt. season it does not seem right for a game warden to be able to wonder around on my land to check if i am hunting. if a man had 20 or so acres he could get out there with a quiet bow. they could say the deer came from somewhere else. all i know is you got to fight tooth and nail because you will not like what they want to shove down your throats. DISNEYLAND!!!
