Not sure if a lot of people here have heard of this company, but they send people out to do door-to-door sales for their HYLA vacuum. A lady brought one to our house and gave us a demonstration. I was told the full price for this was around $2,000, but if I gave them my current vacuum they would take so much off. They also said I would get so much off for each referral I gave no matter if they bought one or not. I gave plenty. They also know I am on SSI and I could only afford low monthly payments. They were cool, the payments were $54 a month. I wasn't able to look into the future and know what would soon happen once we got this. First of all, we never got a "new" HYLA - instead we got the one that was being used as a demo and were told a new one would arrive in 1-2 weeks. Never came. Then, my husband who has been having heart problems gets sick and has been in and out of the hospital since December, and now has been in the hospital straight for two months. They call demanding payment. I explain what is going on, they said it's okay, they make note of this and tell me to make a payment when I'm able to. I said okay. Today I get a call from a lady saying I have been lying to her, which I haven't. She says if I don't return this vacuum they would call the police on me and have me arrested!! I said fine, come get the crap. I said whoever comes to get it better return my vacuum I sent in for a discount. She said, well he should have it with him. So I sit the vacuum on my steps with my door open while my home care nurse came in. That SOB pulls into the gas station across the street walks up without making a noise, snatches it and runs off and wouldn't even return my vacuum. Now, I'm off to Walmart to buy a new vacuum. But, I'd rather pay $200 than use their used crap even, no matter what price it was! They also give a "vacation package" after you let them do the demo in your house. Supposedly this vacation to Branson is free, paid by the company. However, when I called to make my reservations I was told they company does not pay for it, even though the letter from HYLA clearly says it does. They hotel said they would need my credit card, and I would be charged full price.. I said F that shit! They also give a free knife set for watching the demo, but those cheap things break apart within a month, LOL.

Go to the police station and make a report. And if I happen to have a HYLA employee on my doorstep I will make sure he has to run back to his vehicle...without the used vacuum.

What was the lady's name who sold it to you?

The lady who brought it to my house for the demo was my daughter-in-law, however, when I was feeling out the papers for it, she had to call her boss, the man in charge at the Poplar Bluff store to see if my credit would go through, and that's when I talked to him. He had to call me back within 30 mins. to see if my credit would go through, and that's when I was promised discounts, gift certificates and a free trip. I never recevied any gift certificate and the free trip papers they sent me were bogus. I was also told by the boss at the store on the phone the person giving the demo isn't allowed to go to family to try and sell them, but he said since my last name is different from hers it would be okay, just not to say anything to the credit approval company if they ever called me.

Perhaps you shouldn't buy things you can't afford. Its kinda why this country is in the shape it is. If I were on SSI I wouldn't even consider buying a $2k vaccum. And shame on your daughter in law for even trying to get you to buy something like that just so that she could make some money.

I use to work for HYLA last year for a few months. I think the guy in charge is a sick pervert. Their main goal is to trick the elderly into thinking this "air purifier" will clean your air and vacuum your floors. They say it will help them with their illness like if they have asthma or something, that it will give them cleaner air. It doesn't. How can something that you fill up with water, plug a vacuum hose into one side and suck up dirt from your floors spit out clean air on the opposite side of the water container? It would be spitting out the dirty air you're sucking up because it goes in one side and out the other. I worked for them for almost 3 months. You get paid 100 bucks for each demo you give and 500 bucks if the person buys one. I went all over the city, to places in Cape, Dexter, Bloomfield. I sold what I could and it's funny how I only got paid for a few of the ones I did sell. When I finally quit I asked when I would receive my payment for the last 3 machines I sold and I was told the payment had been mailed, yet that was last year and I have yet to receive my 3 payments.

Man that's 1,500 bucks you lost out on.I would be checking up on that. There is 3 things people don't mess with in my life..1.My family 2.My property and 3. My money...all in that order..That is stealing in my opinion and I can't stand a thief.I would be f'ing hostile!

What was the man's name in charge? If it is the same one that was here at Dexter, his name was Jordan Hall. My husband and I worked for him when he had his office in Dexter. He stiffed my husband out a bunch of money and flew the coop! I think he went to Arkansas when he left Dexter and there is no telling where he ended up from there. He was in trouble here in Dexter for passing bad checks. If it is him, I wouldn't do any kind of business with him. This guy is nothing but a big joke. He claims to be a faithful christian man when he does nothing but flirt with all of his employees.

If they do come to your house for a demo when they fill it with water and show you the clean water before they vaccum your floor note that they shine the light from the top.......but after they shine the light on the side to show you all the "bad stuff " it picked up. Trust me the water looks the same from the side before and after!

It is always the same. Those who finance a product and afterwards realize that they have finacial issues always try to blame the company, the product and everything else but themself. If you can not afford it, don't buy it! It is that simple. Customers who buy a product with check or credit card usually never complain, isn't that strange? Wake up and act responsible.

The product does a good job and does not spit out the dirt it sucked up. It is based on a know good German design and on other vacs that do work. It is pretty pricey. And correct shame on the daughter in law for selling something that $$$ to you on SSI. Her intentions were prob good and thats where this got messed up. I tried one for a couple weeks and liked it, just couldnt part with 2K....Thats a lot of bi weekly cleanings from my sisters cleaning comp.

My husband worked for the HYLA company out of Paragould, AR for around 3 months last year. He went to work at 7 in the morning and didn't get home until around 10 every night. This whole time he was going door to door and they even had him driving as much as 2 hours one way just to do one demonstration. He sold 7 that whole time and in all made no more than 500 bucks. He sold one to his mother and they told her the same thing about the discounts and said her payments wouldn't start until April yet she started getting bills in January and they told her she had to pay them! They do give a bigger discount if you agree to take the demo vacuum instead of a brand new one. This place is nothing but a joke!

You're on social security, medicare/medicaid and buying $2000 vacuum cleaners and planning Branson vacations. I better get some extra hours in at work. I have a feeling my tax dollars are going to end up paying for all that.

Don't be so hateful. The way the person selling it describes everything to you makes it seem like a very good deal with extremely cheap monthly payments and that the vacation is free. Then after you sign a contract you find out the truth.

Don't blame others or the product for your own mistakes. The salesman did not force you to buy it, right? Because of people like you our country is not doing economically well. I bought my Rainbow 6 years ago, because I liked it and I could afford it.I bought my HYLA 2 years ago, traded in my Rainbow and got $ 400.- off the Retail Price. I am happy about the deal and with the HYLA. By the way I paid with a credit card. Make an educated decision before you buy/finance anything in the future.

I bought my Hyla 5 years ago, was told all the same crap everyone else was. They won't fix my vacuum for me. It is the worst vaccum ever. We bought it because we were told that we don't care what kind of air our child breathes in. We fell into it. They stink horribly too. The salesman i referred to my family ended up stalking my cousin, we had to file a restraint on him. The company told me he was fired, but come to find out, he was hired in my home town hitting up my extended family. Dirt bags.
