Good food, fair prices, and Ben and his crew are doin awesome. after loosing Ben and The Annex in Doniphan, a brief stay at Doc's, we were very happy with our experience at Castellos tonite! we tried some of the Italian and of course Bens Prime Rib. Tried the Oysters on the Half Shell, were very good, then my wife had the Pasta con Pollo and Broccolli, i had the Prime Rib. both were excellent, and we again had the rolls we have been craving. and of course we saved room for there famous desserts. we looked over the lunch menu and were told of the Sunday Buffet, gonna try that one this sunday, he is having his catfish and other goodies! Good to have you back Ben, poplar bluff needed you and your mom! Congrats to the Tinsleys on recognizing your talents! still miss ya here in Doniphan!

It's not that great....The service was terribly slow when me and my friends went. The lasagna was cold, and you couldn't get a refill to save your life. And we were the only customers in the restaurant!

My friend told me his potato was so cold it wouldn't melt the butter. I hear their prices are high. I won't be spending my "Change" there. I'm going to give all my Change to nObama, so he can share the wealth.

They will never have better food than any drive thru in this town or anywhere. When I order something from McDonalds, Hardees, or any other fast food location, I know that my food will taste the same everytime, thus leaving me with a good experience. Castello's couldn't boil water the same way twice.

Went to Costello's for lunch on my birthday last Tuesday and it was jam packed full of prestigious Poplar Bluff people and the lunch was amazing and service was exceptional. Even with it so busy we never waited for anything and refills never had to be asked for, it automatically happened. The rolls of course were our appetizer and dessert, because they are just that fabulous! Lunch was very cheap. Although, I have not been there for dinner yet, I am assuming the service, food and price will be just suited for an evening menu. Those that bad mouth this restaurant apparently have no taste or experience in fine dining. Costello's is a diamond in the rough in this shit hole of a town! Like it or lump it. Opinions are like assholes...everyone has one!!

Maybe me and my friends weren't "prestigious" enough for them, so they treated us like sh*t. Maybe we weren't gay enough. Maybe they just didn't like us. Whatever the reason, Castello's just didn't impress me at all. It seems to fit right in with everything else in this "shit hole of a town." Maybe my expectations were too high. I've eaten in a lot of restaurants in a lot of places, and Castello's would rank close to the bottom on my list. This is just my opinion, by the way. Which is usually what you will get on forums such as topix.

Who exactly are the "prestigious Poplar Bluff people?" I sure don't know any. And Costello's is definitely NOT fine dining. You must not get out much! Poplar Bluff is a dump and there are not ANY "fine dining" establishments. I'm not saying Costello's or any other restaurants in town aren't good, but I think you may be taking it just bit too far.

So glad that the new menu is there!!

Took the family in last night. It's a large group, so we tend to take over an area when we are in there. We ordered a little of everything.

Our oysters --- fantastic (on the half shell and rockefeller). Kids loved the tater skins. Breadsticks were a hit with the kids, we stuck to the rolls.

Shrimp Fettucine - the shrimp were huge, but not tough and delicious (according to my son).

The daughters had the lasagna - again, delicious.

The rest of us had the steaks - cooked to perfection.

The waitress and the waiter were friendly and very attentive. We didn't need to ask for anything because they kept everything filled and cleared. Service was fantastic.

Sounds like you have a personal vendetta against him. Let's be objective here. It's not fair to attack someone's proffesional life based on personal dislikes or what not. Jim's food is great. I'm sure sometime's he makes a few mistakes (heaven forbid! not a mistake!), but he's still a great chef.

Must have been later in the evening. We went by there at 6:30 and there were only 2 cars parked in front. In fact, we thought they were closed for some reason, until we saw the neon Open sign lit up.

we had the sunday buffet today, it was great. from quiche, lasagna, catfish, many delicious vegetables and salads, then finished off with their homemade cinnamon rolls. ben rocks! and if dont like a buffet, they still have a lunch menu available, from specials, prime rib sanwich, burgers, pasta dishes, and of course, the homemade desserts. keep up the good work ben! and thank you to the Tinsley family for making this happen
