What is going on around here?
-Josh Leader shot in the back by one of the Dudley's.
-Jeffery Shelton kidnaps that poor, innocent little girl, and come to find out another too.
-south side Casey's was robbed.
-Michael Clayborne shot and killed by a man from Hayti at Rick's on the south side.

What is fueling all this hatred? Is PB a safe place to raise children anymore?

Nope not anymore.

It's getting that way everywhere. The schools have been less than perfect for a long time and getting worse as well. Wherever you raise your kids, just try to protect them the best you can, and watch who they hang out with.

Not any safer than anywhere else in America. And with all the meth heads around you wouldn't expect it to be.

Obviously you were not here in the early 80's.

All in all crime is less overall then ever before. There have been lower blips in the past but there is nothing trending up...

I was there in the 80s we had problems then but nothing like now. Families aren't what they used to be. Back then people would say they were 3rd generation farmers, carpenters, nurses. Now its mostly 3rd generation welfare recipients.

It's still a heck of a lot safer then where we moved from. When I feel unsafe leaving my house after sunset is when I'll feel PB is a bad place to raise a family. Right now I feel comfortable in PB at any time of day or night, and I don't feel it necessary to carry a gun in my car like I did back home.

Pretty simple. Welfare, food stamps, Medicade, pills, dope, unemployment. Anything and everything that the deadbeats can get for free from the taxpayers. They say at home and do nothing, except to continue to shit out one bastard Medicade kid after the other. Just look around wherever you go--skanky welfare white trash living off the system. They all do drugs and when drugs, hoes, and deadbeats gets together, crime and violence is certain to follow.

We've had to deal with the police a few times here and mostly they are great. We have some really good ones, but the occasional smart aleck. Love them, pray for them, but don't get in their way. The same with the fire dept. Most of them are good too, but an occasional bad apple. I've been here since 1950, so I know a little. Yes, we do have people on welfare, but everyone seems to get along fairly well. A lot of the disgruntled opinions are coming from newbies or those from other areas trying to sow discontent. My opinion.

well, if you think crime is bad now just try taking away most of the things you just listed especially food stamps and then you will see a REAL crime increase. bad people do bad things. they don't need a "motive" but when people are hungry they will do anything to get money. taking away some one's ability to feed themselves and their kids is a really dumb hillbilly redneck mean repub idea. that's why you guys lost the election. DUMBNESS. some people never learn.

we have child labor laws that prevent children from earning any more than a few dollars. many single mothers have been abandoned by their alcoholic husbands and are stuck with 3 or 4 kids. so you "christians" who rail against abortion want to take the food out of children's mouths and ruin their whole lives. as i said before cowardly repubs don't give a squat about the unborn or the born. pregnant women are vulnerable and an easy target. that's the only reason you cowards harass them about abortion.

I'm a Christian and a Republican. I don't believe in abortion as a form of birth control. I believe if a person truly needs help, they should pray and then thankfully take what help is provided. Most of the time, it will be a job, but sometimes it isn't. My husband dumped me and our children, but I am thankful that the govt. allowed me to garnish his wages. Still, I didn't get what I was entitled to receive due to threats of him quitting his job. I did try to get food stamps when I was in college but didn't qualify as my name was on my parent's home. I could have cheated but being a Christian, I didn't. Not everyone gets help, but God does provide. I had a generous dad who decided to help me while he was living. When the time came, he lived with me instead of going into a home. Like I said, God does provide. Maybe allowing the govt. to help us sometimes is that mysterious way people speak about. I don't know.

only an idiot or a person living ina state or country where contraceptives are illegal would ever use abortion as birth control. truth is many of your associates would outlaw contraceptives as well. you people always trot out some "red herring" of an example but the truth is you repubs want to outlaw abortion AND contraceptives period no matter the circumstances so you keep touting the rare case where some idiot might use abortion as birth control as if everyone does it as routine and that is misleading, deceitful and dishonest . also, you didn't qualify for food stamps cause you owned a home which is as it should be since you can always borrow on a home if your name is on the deed. and what the hell is "when the time came"? i've never heard of a disease or sickness called "when the time came". you speak deceptively and with a lot of doublespeak bull sh!t. i know of many old people able to live on their own til they died but never heard of a sickness called "when the time came" if sickness is what you mean. and i worked while i was in college and never even considered applying for food stamps. it never entered my mind . it was unthinkable so i worked part time at two jobs and would have worked full time had i been able to find a full time job. and had i known one of my peers on foodstamps i would have kept my nose out of his or her business regardless and let god be this person's judge.

Why don't you just admit it, nothing I said would be right as you are against Republicans. There are some females who do use abortion as birth control. And true, I don't believe in abortion. Why should anyone kill a person as a convenience to another selfish person. Isn't a life and the chance to live it worth as much to the baby as to the person who has already lived 25 percent or more of theirs? There were times that I ate very little because I didn't have it and no, I wasn't going to borrow money on my parent's home so I could eat. And as for my saying when the time came, I mean just that. My dad could no longer live alone and the doctor wanted to put him in a home. Are you so ignorant to think an argument is justified just because you like to argue? You are right about one thing and that is God is the judge. You criticize me for praying and obeying my God, well let him judge you.
