Them lady Mules are off to a good start. If you haven't seen them play I encourage everyone to come out and watch. They play Bell City tonight at 6:00. Hope to see you there.

Its going to be scary. Coach told us he was going to change things up tonight. I know I'm just a kid, but why would we change anything when we are winning? I'm confused.

Honey, get used to it. He did the same thing when my daughter played for him. Coach is an idiot and doesn't have a clue what it takes to be a good coach or how to win. Glad those days are behind us.

Now we know why the students don't respect their teachers and coaches. They have paranoid parents whispering in their ears .

No paranoia here, just the facts. My daughter did respect the position just not the man (and I use that term lightly)in the position, she was respectful and curtious at all times, and I never said anything negative to her about the coach. so enough explaining myself to you, I just saw the post laughed and realize somethings never change and I hate it for the girls. You are partially correct, the kids of today don't have the respect of the kids in my generation. However several of the teachers and coaches of today aren't worth repecting. Lifestyles choices they make, language they use, affairs they have. Sadly several fall ethically short.

I have been to the volleyball games and they are exciting. Been watching this team for a few years now and am amazed at their physical abilities. Good players who love to excel make a good team. Coaching is only one aspect of the game - not the entire game.

Boy you said a lot there. I've been watching for quite a while as well and from what I can see the team is winning no matter what the coach does to them. Jacking up the substutions, putting in girls that don't deserve and aren't very good players while better players are on the bench. Its the coaches job to make the individual players better, unfortunately its the girls making the coach look better now. The girls are finding a way to win despite him, and who he puts on the court.

Well, I wonder if your daughter was so good...what is she doing now in volleyball? Is she playing D1? JUCO? Park League?
Unfortunately, many of the parents are worth respecting "these days", language they use, affairs they have, examples they set for their children.
One of the greatest motivating things that a coach has is the bench. They all love to play, all of them. You sit them on the bench, and they come around pretty good - John Wooden
The general feeling is, if you don't treat everyone the same you're showing partiality. To me, that's when you show the most partiality, when you treat everyone the same. You must give each individual the treatment that you feel he earns and deserves, recognizing at all times that you're imperfect and you're going to be incorrect oftentimes in your judgment.- John Wooden
Good teams become great ones when the members trust each other enough to surrender the "me" for the "we." - Phil Jackson

Parents need to stay out of the coach's business. Any parent who goes to the coach if their daughter doesn't get to play enough is only embarrassing their child! All of the players recognize the parents who do this. Those patents aren't helping their kids.

I heard a mom went down in the middle of a game cause coach pulled her daughter out. He played the girl the entire time the next game! Anyone else see that?

I know if parents would stay out of it and let the coaching staff and the kids handle it. That would be nice. Kids and coaches do mainly fine, until parents starts having bitch fits... Lol

I'm not sure who all is crying and complaining to the coach, but I can tell you that I haven't and my daughter has won several awards several years in a row and even though I'm her mom she is pretty good. Now shes too good to play JV, and should be playing Varsity, but because she's not a Senior or related to the coach she gets little to no JV time and has to sit the bench and watch a couple of seniors play varsity that aren't half as good as her. Maybe I need to go and through a fit. If what is said is true she will get to play.

Thats the spirit! Go complain, grip and bitch. I think maybe threaten to have you child quit and go to the Administration. Call Amy Jackson, she will fix it! if it was my child being mistreated I would not stand for it!!!

Typical Poplar Bluff mentality proves itself over & over again. Parents who are “Legend is their own minds” have manipulated the youth leagues in this town for years . Sure they can boast that they won 1st in Park Dept baseball 4 years in a row. Big flippin whoop! You haven’t taught your kids anything that will make them a better ball players.  Their lifetime highlight is reflecting on when they were Park Dept Legends. Woo Hoo here’s your Bozo Button, loser!

Now that they are in high school they still think Daddy can fix it. The Cycle of Suck just continues.

Welcome to the world of Coach Berry's coaching! Good luck if you can figure him out, when we played for him we couldn't! He is more worried about getting girls that can't play on the court than he is about winning. He's just a wanna be guy coach in a womans world.

My daughter played for coach berry this summer on a so called travel team. We were not very happy with the experience at all. There was a charge for everything and was pretty expensive, and the coach had very few practices, and didn't even show up to half our games. He had girls that I guess are on the high school team coach them and that was a joke. There were so many girls on the team, many of them didn't get to hardly play. Waste of time.

. Wow. Well in that case you really need to be at the next school board meeting, with other parents that went through the same thing and have a discussion with them about it. Just my opinion.
