They will be paying the same thing they are paying now. Why would it be any different?

Try NEA in Jonesboro or Cape. PB is not even slightly competitive, because they can attract warm bodies with active licenses to work.
Sure, they talk a big game, they are EXTREMELY poor with follow-up on your app, nothing for online. They couldn't give two figs for quality, experienced staff, just hacks settling for low wages.
They talk the talk but never walk the walk...

They may start you comparable to other places then hold the entire hospitals raise for three or four years then when you hit your five year mark you are way below what other hospitals are paying

Very true! I had considered it, but researching it, they also won't let people use their sick leave until they have been sick three days(with doctor's excuse), making employees use their vacation time for the first two days-WTH? I know many people working there, being sent home on flex time or called off on flex time-they have no vacation time left. They also proudly as a corporation refuse to pay if you get the flu, if you don't get a flu shot. People allergic to eggs cannot take flu shots & a medical corporation does not recognize that-hmm? I am happy where I am, we have a good RN to pt ratio, awesome nurses, which makes for happier patients. I didn't become a nurse to feel I half-assed my patient care or drowned in paperwork .
Maybe they will be better when they try to hire for that new building, and find their reputation precedes them...

New building, less taxes paid, fewer employees and same (or less) level of care. Is this what the chamber of commerce worked for? Just thinking.

If she wants to know what they are paying she can call the hospital. There are set payscales for medical professionals according to experience and education. Normally there is no negotiating. There is no question about this, it is fact.

Quite a few hospitals in metropolitan areas don't pay for sick time until your third day. When I lived in St. Louis ten years ago they were doing that then. Sick time is a privilege and not a benefit. They don't have to pay it. A lot of employers don't even pay sick time. At Barnes-Jewish in St. Louis you are fired if you refuse to get your flu shot. None of this is new. Get out of southeast Missouri and see what is going on in the big cities before you complain.

Even if you medically can't take a flu shot, they will fire you? Employers who don't pay sick time, like McDonald's&Wal-Mart&th e DAR newspaper hawkers?

That's right... There is no negotiating. It's based on your years of experience and education levels.

Every week since HMA bought it...
It is another BS rumor, or wishful thinking by those who think the grass is any greener on the other side of a corporate fence.

HMA is not building the new hospital so they can sell it. If you worked for the company you would know that.

ALL healthcare workers are required to get the flu vaccine and if you can prove you have egg allergies you are excused. anyone refusing to get flu shots have to wear a mask when in contact with patients. If you people are nurses and don;t know that I sure don't want you taking care of me.

What is your reading comprehension scores? I am not a nurse, I asked the poster who said you HAD to take a flu shot about exceptions. I called BS on the rumor the hospital was being sold.
