It's the wage situation. So many there are making huge bucks, which makes it almost impossible to hire new people. Any place that works short handed will have problems.

I have been a patient at PBRMC and my husband as well. We were both treated exceptionally. I've been in other hospitals a long time ago and I sure don't remember them being any better. Sometimes it takes awhile to get the nurse to bring your meds or to get you something you need, but if you knew everything that they have to do just for ONE patient, you would understand. EVERYTHING has to be documented and every patient wants something all the time. If all the nurses had to do was what we see as care for the patient it would be different. But they have so much paper work and then the phone calls and call lights go on and on. Some patients want something or another every 5 minutes. Give the staff a break at PBRMC, they do try very hard. And yes, there have been cut backs I've heard, but look around people, we're in the middle of a recession! And as far as the doctors at the Black River Medical Center sending all their patients to Cape....well they sure are doing a lot for the town they live in now aren't they!!!!

BRMC wanted to ship me to Cape for something that could be handled at PBRMC, I refused! Going to Cape for simple hospitalizations puts a strain on my family & me,

Your family will really be strained if one of you die! Which happens quite frequently there!

They did fine by me. I had my surgery, feel better and was back to work in two weeks. That is a long car trip back and forth from Cape to PB when you just had surgery. People in Cape hate those hospitals and swear you have to go to St. Louis for care.

I don't think you can. However, I do remember years ago, my little dog was so sick and the veterinarian borrowed some kind of flouroscope or xray machine from them.(portable most likely) Well, one of the hospitals here. Found out after my dog died that it had antifreeze poisoning. They did an autopsy on my dog and sent it to Columbia. Dr. Pearce didn't charge us anything, and the animal hospital only charged us $25. Quite a difference now, huh?

their stock dropped to 3 out of 10 to buy. Stock price is 7.2. That is nearly unheard of for a hospital stock. They can spin those silly awards any way they want. But everybody knows they are a shhitt hole, thats corrupt.

people die every day, its the only sure thing in life. when your ticket comes up you go. you cannot blame death on a hospital.

It's usually closer to thanksgiving. I think right before they hand out the free turkeys actually. That way the count can be adjusted. Save $$.

Too true! As soon as they have the employee's annual dinner, pink slips will fly. That way they save money on food & turkeys!
Thank goodness they have the money to give away free passes to the Malden Speedway tonight...
Merry Christmas to us all...
