Its not a factory, they have shifts all hours they are open. They just cover the busy times with more people than the slow times with overlaps.

You forgot to include when they do re-stocking and unloading trucks and whatnot. I've seen them working till around midnight or 1 every single night

Yes i presume they have people that do closing like any store but dont have a crew that comes in specifically for freight. I used to work at a home depot in another state and was on the freight crew and worked all night, but we did $1m a week in sales, so we had to have a separate crew.

Okay, so when you go to work for an 8 hour shift... what do YOU call it? All I want to know is- If I was to work there. What would I work. 8 hours, 9 hours, 12 hours. Duh! I am not retarded. I know it's not a factory. But regardless of what it is, people there still work in SHIFTS.

At home depot you work 40 hrs a week. Your hours can very... one day you may work 4- 6 hrs or up to 10 hrs in one day. It depends on if your working with a ( large ) sale at the time.

One day I worked 11 hrs at HD. Just about the time I was to clock out, I had a family come in for doors and windows for a new home they were building.

As you can see they try but really can not delegate your hours when a customer is involved. The sale comes first.

Part timers are generally scheduled 4, 6, or 9hrs
Full timers are scheduled 9hrs a day.
You actually only work 8 hours as you get a 1hour lunch.

It is my understanding that Home Depot as a corporation no longer has overnight freight teams. There is a team that comes in and works 4am-8am and a seperate team that works 8pm-midnight. If there was someone there after midnight it was for an unusual situation.

My husband works the evening freight. The schedule is supposed to be 8Pm till 12pm, but it can also varys. Sometimes he goes in at 3 and doesn't get off till 2. It just really depends on how much freight they have. The next freight team comes in at 4am and leaves at 8am.

Not all true. Garden recovery works overnight 5 days a week.

Home depot doesn't have shifts. you'll rarely go in for 8 hours at a time. In the course of a week, you might come it at 5 am one day and 3pm the next, and then 11am the following day. It's really an awful place to work. Sometimes you'll get scheduled to come in for ONE hour, or maybe 2 or 3. You'll be in the store 5 or 7 days a week, but you'll never get 40 hours.

Then why does it look so shitty for?Nothing is ever watered or anything dont they have venders that are suppose to come in and water and make sure the product is stocked instead of the home depot..if the venders stayed more than an hour or 3 they would get work done and if they didnt flirt with the workers and text all day they might get something done...everytime i go in there lately NOTHING is watered and its all dead if they are going to throw it away why not give it away ya know??and the vendors are standing there talking and using their phone...keep your personal life at home dont bring it or your family at work with you cuz you dont want to do it...i guess cuz they take it home instead or trade it for other things they like to perticipate in outside of work...do they not drug test who they hire?

You get 29 hours - they only accept part time offers on applications- and if you go over you can get in trouble and a fine would hit the store-
Though this is a problem for those with bigger families- the HD is a great experience to work at- you must be 18 and having prior knowledge of electrical, plumbing, lumber, garden- anything at the store it almost ensures a interview- but DO NOT get discouraged if you don't get it the first time- I got my job on the second time.:)
But to be short- 29 hours a week - est 205.00 w/tax taken out.- shifts can range from 4 hours to 9 hours.
