I believe that would be the Governor Of North Carolina, Gov. Beverly (Bev) Perdue. Plus, why would the people of North Carolina be surprised that she is raising the taxes on anything? That is the only thing that a Dem knows to do, take money from the working class and give it to the non-working class. If you do not like it then you can do two things, recall her or wait until the next election and vote her out. Have a lovely day.

So Bev's increased taxes in NC are going to go to DC to pay for the war? Really?

News Flash!!
It is a Democrat war now or have you forgotten, the Democrats are in total control now. What's NC unemployment rate at now? Something like 8% and climbing. Let Gov Perdue keep raising the taxes, and see if NC unemployment rate will go as high as 11% or 12% or highter. Have a good day.

A Republican war, so funny and I thought it was an American War against terrorism.

Why is it always alcohol/food/cigs? Ad a Tax on Lottery Tickets...that would make a bundle! Add a tax on Newspapers is another one. Porn industry...Tax higher in Porn Stores that sell "merchandise"...lol Add a tax to Golf Courses and Country Clubs....Make it fair across the board!

Why is it that government assumes they must spend more every year? Time for them to do some belt tightening.

Everyone is complaining *including myself, my family, etc*, however, let me inform those of you that may or may not know. Laugh if you must, I'm sure many will but I am a professional astrologer and I promise that the event that just transpired on July 22 at 10:35 lasting 6 minutes and 39 seconds was not only the longest solar eclipse during the 21st century but posed a severe threat to our country's economic future. The eclipse occurred at 29 degrees Cancer, the astrological sign of the USA (July 4, 1776)
First of all, any planetary configuration at either 0 or 29 degrees is a crisis-oriented point. Secondly, the eclipse fell in the 2nd house of our great nation. The second house of a chart, Astrologically speaking is the area of Specific possessions such as earned income and our ability to influence it, investments and move-able property (cars, clothing, jewelry and the like). Debt is also part of the equation here, since we own the responsibility to pay our bills. How we view money, the acquisition of wealth (and debt), financial reversals, savings, budgeting and financial status are all ruled by the Second House.

For those of us who believe that money will set us free, it's interesting to note that this maxim finds a home in the Second House. Personal freedoms as established by financial capability and sensibility are addressed within this House.

It's impossible to foretell the future but as I tell anyone who asks about Astrology, you wouldn't plan a picnic if you knew the odds were leaning toward rain, well, don't use all of your worries on what the state of NC is doing...no biggy there, you'd better be more concerned about a possible complete economic collapse of this entire nation. I do not like what I saw in the chart of the United States. As I said initially, laugh if you must but remember the story of Noah and the Flood, people laughed at him too! Ironically, Cancer is a water sign....
Eclipses occur in Saros series, previous eclipses of the same series were on June 30, 1973 and June 20, 1955, which were longer than this one, lasting 7 min 04 and 7 min 08, respectively) and the next total eclipse will occur on August 2, 2027...
