Why give the city more money when they build swimming pools rather than roads. The city assess property owners by road frontage when they build or improve roads yet they want tax on top of that? What sales tax does, is drive people to low sales tax places to buy. Charge tolls if outside people are tearing up the roads. They do that in London and give people that live there a permit.
Why transfer wealth for private to public as the government seems to be a poor consumer in evaluating costs and quality. When the government has the power to buy, the citizen loses the power to vote with his dollar. Our community is failing because of poor government leadership.
Since fast food makes poor health how about a 50% tax on fast food. Taxes never should be a law to control behavior or provide support for people that need charity. We have private institutions and tax free non profits to handle those problems.
