If you have to check out your purchase yourself then you need not pay full price. The buyer has a cost of time also and if their wage is higher the store is stealing their time.
Why not just order on the web and end retail stores?

Many urban planners accuse automobiles of killing street life, with roadways often dividing once-connected neighborhoods, and creating endemic air and noise pollution. They also cite them as as being a major factor in pedestrian deaths and injuries.

Lol. The move is all about making more profit for the store. Good luck getting a self check out discount. ;)

I will buy from the web and avoid both sales tax and driving cost along with packaging the product. You have control of what companies do good or fail.

I order quite a lot online but it's only a matter of time before the gov taxes all internet sales. Already do in some states.

It is just a matter of time that employment will no longer exist. If you do not sell yourself as a service you will die when government cannot afford you. People will compete with those 80 cent an hour labor of India. I suggest a personal limit on producing children you cannot afford. But then people will not control their personal sex desires as they dig the graves of their futures.

In addition to the hardware deployment, Whole Foods plans to give customers the option to use Square Wallet. The digital credit card, loyalty card and receipt storage app allows users to pay via QR code and is currently accepted at a number of merchants, including Starbucks.
