No historic truth in that at all.

Charter schools, however, are showing to have a huge failure result to the education of our students.

Charter schools are no better on average than public schools only the staff gets paid less.
The very concept of one size fits all in the name of schools does not work for all. The best education has come from mentors and tutors. The problem is many people have children that can not afford to give them the kind of educational experience for them to live a life of sapience.
What we have is propaganda to make willing slaves so the leaders can be in control and hand the power over to their children.

Read " The deliberate Dumbing Down of America " by Charlotte Iserbyt

Perhaps your education has you watch TV instead of read or believe what is on the web.

Multiple choice testing is a shame and does not measure wisdom or education. It narrows choices to have a child be conditioned by Skinner/Pavlov reward system to make them obedient. This is not a human life but one that is only fit for animals. There is a huge difference between training and education.

As one of the most successful educational enterprises in American history, the residential liberal arts college has long been emulated across all spectrums of undergraduate education in the United States and increasingly around the world. These schools are characterized by broad-based curricula, small class size, and interaction between students and faculty. Aimed at developing students’ intellectual literacy and critical-thinking skills rather than specific professional preparation, the value proposition made by these colleges has recently come under intense pressure.

Higher education is evolving into a caste system with separate and unequal tiers that take in students from different socio-economic backgrounds and leave them more unequal than when they first enrolled.

Remaking College brings together a distinguished group of higher education leaders to define the American liberal arts model, to describe the challenges these institutions face, and to propose sustainable solutions.

What's the thinking behind pay increases for failure to do ones job? "To lure" better teachers the acticle says, but both pay raises go to teachers already employed. This is why I dodge taxes, hope ya'll enjoying paying for all these bloated over compensated state workers.

Because of the strings attached to government education money teachers have become nothing more wage slaves using skinner/pavlov conditioning to get their classroom rats to mark the right blank on multiple choice tests. This action gives the teachers a paycheck and the students a mark as it keeps both from having a real education but supplies the leaders with obedient workers.

It is preferable not to have wage slaves but people who own their labor and trade it where both parties agree. If a person is rebelling there is a problem that is not solved.

So everytime a county worker whines we give them more money, better benefits, sweeter pension? With that there is no end, and the result is what we have now, half the Country working for the government, getting paid better than the private sector, and ultimately draining wealth of all people to zero. Sure you can do that to calm "rebellious workers" and you can print a lot of money to pay for it, but, in the end we all go broke and the dollar is worthless. And that's not good for even the most "rebellious" freeloaders.

News flash, there is no gold backing up the dollar it already is worthless. They only thing that keeps it up is your belief in it.
The idea is to stop government handouts and laws requiring some to support others. Let those that produce and trade survive and those that do not can just die. You are not responsible to keep freeloaders alive but you are responsible for you own survival.

How are you measuring their job is being done? What is the job of the teacher?

People should not be in wage slave jobs they should own their labor. It is the parents responsibility to educate their child. You do not need to measure who gives your child inspiration and helps him find a path in life. You do need to keep communication with your child and see if they are using their ability to the best they can and contribute to humanity.

Education is not job training.

Perhaps those that have the tools use them and those who do not sit back and wait. The concept of corporation started as a church function to benefit mankind. Politics have perverted corporations and have given them shelter to hide corruption. Fix government they they will fix corporations. It will not happen when politics is a career and you need money to be elected.

Corporate charters can be changed but then you have foreign corruption to deal with. Each individual is corrupt when they buy products made by people getting paid less then themselves.
