Why should the city employees give up their money when he is the responsibility of the city. He could be put on leave with pay. This is blatant misconduct by the city. Anyone hurt on the job is the responsibility of the employer.

Why is this news, they get paid too much to do a job badly. We all need to work for the city, cry brothers what they would do without us! Then retire rich and bloated.

The average American pay is $50K a year. What we have in Tupelo is a few rich people taking advantage of the working people. Pay the cop $50K and he might not need to be corrupt to feed his family. Those who let themselves be taken advantage of need to demand fair compensation for their labor, better yet ownership in the products they make.
You get what you pay for.

This is the most retarded argument against corruption I've seen. You must be a city worker, you don't like your job, you go get a different one like everybody else. Thinking more money will lead to better service by teachers and police isn't working. When I was growing up city workers didn't live in 200k homes, drive 40k cars and have 100k pensions, and believe you me, they were happier, did the jobs better and had far better community relations. Why? Because it drew people who wanted to do the job, not people in it for the perks and money.

People do not do jobs and take orders because they like to. They start their own business because they enjoy doing something. Those with great abilities go to places that have opportunities and reward good abilities. Those in fear of change stay dumbed down in the same place.

Better pay attracts better people, those that settle do not want to rock the boat so they obey even when it is unethical. The younger generation will not stay where life is not going to challenge them. Only those that stay stoned end up in dead end jobs.

Explain then, why the top level officers of the Tupelo police dept. are the most most unethical? Your theory is incorrect, the newer, lower paid recruits have yet to be "initiated", and are for the most part honest and unaware of the true inner workings of the dept. This is fact.

I passionately disagree with this also, you just called military ignorant an unethical. If towns across the nation turn in mass on the people, military and former military be it PO or civilian will be the only wedge that upholds the Constitution. Look the point being, pay, outside of a living wage will never be a substitute for ethical behavior, you can have love of money or a love for God, it really is that simple. People make mistakes, however blindly following orders is outside of free will, and believe it or not some people cannot be bought, it is a tough road, why make it tougher unless the goal is to buy out freedom.

The government does not uphold the Constitution as the public education and skewed text books have white washed the whole affair. Those that follow orders without question have created the mess we are in now. What is unethical is to kill in the name of a corrupt government.

Nothing is simple or multiple choice as you been trained in public school.
Think of life without money, God or love. People that can not be bought are framed or killed.
