I don't think these two security guards intentionally meant to kill this man. BND said that th 42 year old man was having psychological issues and he was probal freaking out. The two security guards were just doing their jobs by restraining him, he was probally fighting them back pretty good. All I know is those security guards probally realy regret ever going into that room that day.

Security Officers have no business whatsoever restraining anyone! Especially using "ILLEGAL"choke holds. I have been a S.O., my brother is still a S.O. as well as my dad. Security Officers have no business touching anyone! School bus drivers and Ambulance drivers have more authority and rights than Security Officers do. These 2 "wanna be cops" need to be prosicuted. So what if Granite Cops get away with it. We are pushing it way too far to let these 2 civilians get away with murder.Hell, the they cant even arrest anyone except for citizens arrest and we can all do that..

They might of had to restrain him but u dont push the mans face into the ground that he cant breathe. it was all caught on video so if they are being charged its because the video showed they used to much force

I don't think it was intentional but I do believe they were trying to be "cops", obviously enough was seen on that tape to charge them. A lot of things could have been done differently that day and the hospital and secruity staff will be held accountable for their actions. Todd Burkey was a father of two, soon to be grandfather a son a grandson a cousin etc he has so much family that will never see him again because of the this hospital and their secruity staff.

I don't thin they probally realized how much force they were actually using. I agree that they should have turned the mans head so it wasent facing the ground. They madea HUGE mistake by doing what they did, but like I said before they probally really regret ever going in and doing their job.

Regardless its still saying I'm an idiot because I make "idiot" statements. I don't think it was an idiot statement. Just the truth. It would be like you taking a certain wa t work everyday, and on a certain day you decided to take a different way and got in a car accident. You would have regreted taking that way to work. That's what I was trying to get at. Those boys probally regret going into the room that day. That's not dumb, or stupid of me to say.

Since when is "their job" to kill people? Even if the person lived the Security Officers should be prosecuted! If a Security Officer goes as far as even touching you you can have them arrested. They have no right whatsoever touching or restraining anyone! They can call the cops. Thats it.

It isn't their job to kill someone, its their job to protect the company and people they work for. I agree that som action should be taken against them for taking another persons life, but its not like they intentionally killed the guy. The cops were already there and they left, a security guard does have the right to protect him or herself, and protect the people around them. They were doing their job. Geez. Wrong of them to use so much force on the gentleman, sure, but the were oing what they were told.

I feel very bad and sorry for the family, and I do hope that they get the justice the deserve for the loss of their loved one, but now these young men will alwas be looked at as murderers regardless of their intention that day or not. I feel sorry for them and their family also.

Howie- your ignorance is obvious. Let's say I'm at that wonderful so called hospital and one of GC's finest derelicts comes in cracked out of his mind. I'm sitting there minding my own business when he decides to attack me. There are two security guards standing there and they shouldn't try to restrain him? Exactly what are they securing? I live in good old GC and I can assure you that if they wouldn't put him in a choke hold, I would. These guys took a s@#t job and have to deal with these losers all the time. I think a great solution would be for you and your long family lineage of "security professionals" should come in and demonstrate to the hospital your level of expertise on how you would handle these types of situations and all would be well with the world.

It is obvious you are the one that is ignorant on this subject. A security officer ANY SECURITY OFFICER has no business touching anybody. They are civillians not cops. This only happens at Gateway. I was a S.O. at Oliver Anderson Hospital. There was only 1 of us at a time and couldnt even carry a flashlight because it was a weapon, no hand cuffs because it is illegal for a S.O. to use restraints, especially in a hospital. The Security Officer is to call the Police. NOTHING ELSE. So, dumba$$, try to know what you are talking about before you call some ignorant on the subject. When you are the ignorant one here. And I would have no problem showing you how a S.O. is supposed to pick up the direct line they have to the GCPD and have them come and do their job. Because That is what a Security Officers job is...

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Capricorn

If you're feeling lonely and vulnerable, it seems as though someone is out to get you. Perhaps you're separated from the people you love and you don't like it. Try not to mope for too long, because there are important things that need your attention. Speaking of which, if you need to do something that you're dreading, you'll feel much better if you can get it out of the way quickly. If you leave it, the very thought of it will drain your energy.
