So we need more cops in Pontiac, prove that you will use the 1.5 mills for cops only and I just might say yes. Because we don't need any of your loser family and friends on the payroll!

A stronger police presence in Pontiac is needed, but parents should be held accountable for their childrens actions. A lot of the parents out here are in couraging their children to do negative things. They are smoking weed and drinking with them. Also there is nothing for kids to do in Pontiac. Every community center is closed down. But City Counsel always find enough money to take exotic get aways. The State really needs to take over!!!!!!!!!

No need to talk bad about PONTIAC because if you citizens of pontiac would have voted the correct way we wouldn't have the need to say we need more pontiac police. And like one person said that if these parent's wasn't drinking and smoking with these kids and trying to be involved in there life and quit trying to be a friend and be a parent we would have a better outcome. I wish like the devil the KIDS.....Today grew up like i did about 20 yrs ago I'm sure some of them would be here today and not dead or in prison... So to the readers please let's try to stay together and bring our kids together before we lose the one's we have here now... May pontiac contuie to keep up the good work. Cause I'm not going nowhere.

Schooling, discipline and principles starts home. Many of the youth problems and actions are related to their upbringing. If you want to Invest in the future of any city or society start first with the parents by coaching and helping them raise those children. It has to be done with open mind and heart. Invest in day care center, after school activities monitor by the authorities, ask parents to participate and make them accountable, after all they are investing in their children. The only answer to any troubled community is education. You possess it and you will think different and you at things differently.

How can we expect children to be honest, trust worthy, respectful and do the right thing when all we see are lies, deceat and disrespect on every channel, in every newspaper, on every broadcast. we all---need to be responcible for the youth of our communities and if everyone could reach out to just one troubled teen and let them know they mattered, that you cared, we would be one step closer to changing them around to a more positive life stile.
Don't blame it all on the young---corruption in schools, cities, states and in industry, is all being done by the so called leaders. Not a very good role model to follow.

Forty years ago when the debate was rather to legalize abortion or not. People could not imagine that a woman would abort a child for any other reason but what it origianlly was legalized for (rape, incest and the life of the mother). Of course only in the first tri-mester. People apposed argued of a thing called the slippery slope and cheapening of life. Well guess who was right? That slippery slope graduated from the first tri-mester suction abortion to 5 month saline abortion and let's not forget the partial birth that delivers all but the head then shoves forceps into the base of the skull to insert suction tube to remove the brains. Imagine that! We've come a long way baby and now seeing the results of no respect for life. Kevorkian took in the terminally ill into the back of his van a finished them off. Of course he went to prison. Now people will murder at the drop of a hat and you wonder why. I don't.

I'm so glad I got out of that city and now live in the suburbs That city was full of political corruption. From the city attorney's office all the way down to the Principals of the schools.

-- I agree, our leaders have set a bad example to the future adults of the world. But sadly theres the mass media and marketing to point some of the blaim.

Certainly pointing fingers never fixed the problem.
There to much violence theese days thats for sure.

maybe we should stop playing the blame game and everyone try to put in a helping hand. Help these young kids with no parental control rather then disown them. The state needs to step in and parents need to take some responsbility. People in pontiac are not bad people..its the people that do bad things in pontiac that make it unsafe.

IT DOESNT MATTER IF THE COP IS BLACK OR WHITE. IM BLACK AND I LIVE IN PONTIAC. ITS MORE OF BECAUSE THIS CITY HAS BEEN CORRUPT FOR SO LONG THE KIDS DO WHAT THEY SEE MOST. THEY DONT HAVE ANY ROLE MODELS THAT TEACH THEM TO LOVE LIFE AND TO LOVE OTHERS SO DONT DONT REALLY CARE ABOUT EITHER. THE ECONOMY HASNT BEEN GOOD FOR ANYONE HERE OR ELSEWHERE WHICH IS ANOTHER REASON PPL HAVE LOST HOPE. IF YOU DONT HAVE HOPE THEN YOU DONT CARE. AND THATS WHAT WE NEED TO LEARN TO DO AS ADULTS FIND HOPE AND PASS IT ON TO OUR CHILDREN.

We need to start walking n Love, and Forgiveness!!!! Yeah people make me upset, but we have to forgive. And don't hold Grudges, the quicker we Forgive, the quicker we can Heal!!! The Authority Figures need to Check Where Their Morals & Principals Lay.... If we All Lean Towards Walikg N Love... Everything else will fall n place... Crime will still b around, but not as High!!!! We R All Leaders, it's just The Followers R the ones that end up n our Offices... Followers R Careless.... Not Leaders!!!! Don't give these people credit... Their not Leaders.....Tragedy wat happened to this Young Man... My Deepest Sympathy 4 the Family.... 4 the People that's so happy that they moved out... Did u contribute to the community while u was here??? I bet u jump if they need ya in the surburbs!!!! Yeah it's rough here, but if and when I move to the suburbs I'll always b in Yactown to help out n anyway I can like I been doing.... And my 4 sons will b by my side learning and knowing that their place n life it's not All about them!!!! It's about serving others..... Put that n Ya HeAd!!!!

This is very ignorant. U suggest that we get more racist white cops to harras black pple, more coward's with badges who were the victims of bullying to take there anger out on blacks. This leave room for another Travon Martin case, we just need more pple in office who are really about doing the right thing for the community and not about swelling there pockets. The image of a black person with a gun or sagging pants scare whites but a educated black person is their worse fear. Fear that we can have your jobs, own businesses, and actually progress. I hope you never become a cop we know who your target will be.
