My brother was murdered at 1550 Francis Ave. in Atlantic Beach on May 23rd 2005. My family is seeking information on his murder. His name is(KHALIQ AL-SHABAZZ) He drove a ice cream in the area for a short time. He was 40yrs old when he was killed. He married a woman by the name of Adrienne Denise Smith, whom has never once tried to solve his murder. She sent his body back home to Pennsylvania where he was from and never came here for his burial. My brother while living in Easton, Pa. served his community by starting a program called "Guns's Down". He fed homeless and helped families who were falling on hard times. He moves to Atl. Beach and is married 5 month's and is sent home as "CARGO" on a plane from jax to Pa. If you were a greiving wife you would have been on the same flight!!! My brother's funeral in Pa. was huge, cuz people were in disbelief "WHAT HAPPENED"!! Drs., Lawyers, Heavyweight boxing Champion Larry Holmes! It was featured on our local new's because he was well known in the area. Since his murder we started a "Community Hotdog Day" in his honor where we remember people who were murder and still unsolved. If you are reading this please email me with information at ([email protected]) THANK YOU, PATRICIA

Perhaps if your brother didn't beat his wives they would've attended his funeral too.

This sounds fishy. I dont know this story but no one deserves to be hit. And if he hit her and played a role in his death then she is worst than him. Praying for closure and Justice for this family. Shantique Wells.

Forgive me I meant to say if she played a role in his death she is worst than him. But the lord shall be the judge. Patricia Im sorry for your loss. No one deserves to be shot down. I will keep your family in prayer that they get the justice that they deserve. Whats done in the dark, always comes to the light. Keep faith and hope in Christ and he will reveal. Shantique

I knew this Man. I was at the funeral. And so was over 500 other people. I saw many respected officials of the City there. This man served his country and was on the Boxing team. If he wanted to harm someone he could of. But he didnt. He was a good man. And comes from one of the best colored families i know. The wife in the article Claudia she was at the funeral grieving with her children. He loved her. And realized he made a mistake marrying another and wanted to reconcile with his ex wife. In fact he bought her a ring before he was murdered,. You better believe this is fishy. Concerned Citizen

Sounds like you are blaming your brother's murder on a nurse

Nurses save lives they dont take them. She never called this poor mans family a day after he died. And she didnt come to the funeral either she sent him home in a body bag and collected his blood money from his insurance. No one is saying she should solved the murder but she could of at least acted like she cared. Whose the real victim here is the question? Ask her how many times she called detectives asking how was the case progressing. Every dog will have their day.

It is not up to anyone to judge who did what in the situation people should care regardless of whatever the situation is if someone was being beaten then yes it should have been brought to the police but it's not up to us to be the judge or the jury I feel sorry for the family who lost and both situations and I pray that it will be brought into the light of the whole situation at some point in time
