We need the jobs and the revenue. I wish this would've passed. The more commercially zoned property, the more opportunity for businesses to start and move here once the economy gets better.

We have tons of empty commercially zoned property. The projects (in totality) would cause a huge financial burden on the county. No services! We canít make this developer rich at the expense of the tax payer. George McClure wants us to be left in the dust holding the bag.

This project will not help our local economy.

Build it and they will come.
I recently bought a second home in St. Augustine, and have been looking forward to moving my family there. I am having second thoughts. A community where there are no good jobs. A community that cannot attract youth. A community that is VERY anti business. A community that my kids would have to move away from in order to make a living. A community that seems to want more, and more government interference in their lives. For heaven's sake people, you want to completely control everything through federal, state, city and local governments? If all that is not enough you come along and give home owners associations control over the very homes you live in, not to mention the society for the protection of the red flea.
This whole thing is just another example of why business will stay away from the area. I moved my family to Texas many years ago and found a refreshing attitude of "keep the government out of my business and I will stay out of yours" I am no longer sure that I want to move my kids to a place where they will have to move from in a few years in order to make a living. Hope you all take a close look at your attitude toward business before it is to late.

Be very careful Jim B. Once you get past the propaganda of the nations oldest city, and spend some evenings in the alledged historic district your decision to move should change. The handful of good ole boys who have been running St. Augustine is not going to change any time soon. Think about selling your second home when the market changes. Most of the government officials in St. Augustine have or will be moving to Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Mexico, or Costa Rica after they finish raping and pillaging the history of St. Augutine. Our visits to the city are decreasing.

We have plenty of business space approved, un-built and empty. This particular location is not the place to be developer raped. Maybe you should educate yourself on the specs a little more. We love St. Augustine. I can't worry about yours and mine are fine without your kids to educate and employ.

This poster has to be a propagandist for the developer.

I can assure you that my kids will not cost you one penny. They will attend school at the University of Texas, and them most certainly will not attend any public school until they finish there high school studies. By the way, are most people in St Augustine so friendly?
I believe that I must consider my brief encounter with St. Augustine a bad investment. Not my first and I am sure, not my last. I'll take my losses and move on.

When you give an uninformed opinion you must expect rebuttal. Just try to influence our quality of life and you will get the slam dunk.

Good luck to you.

Hey Jim B -

Don't pay any attention to the whackos here on Topix. No local normal people post on Topix here because these 2 nutcases rule the board here - I believe they are housebound trailer trash tramps and play on the internet all day. Under any 'nic'(and they each have hundreds), they are just two lonely, sad and unhappy people who are unemployed, unbalanced, and are only happy when trying to make others unhappy because they 'need' to.

Both of these degenerates have 'reputations' here in St. Augustine, which is why they 'live' here on Topix. Yes, we all know who they are.

St. Augustine is nothing like what they represent here. Come on over - You'll love it, like the rest of us do. Best wishes -
