YOU MADE MY POINT. YOU WANT TO ATTACK ME FOR NOT BELIEVING IN THE COMMONLY ACCEPTED RELIGION. LIKE THE TERRORIST WE ARE FIGHTING IN THE MID EAST. YOU PROVE TO ME THAT A RELIGION IS TRUE AND I WILL GIVE THOUGHT. YOU CAN'T. I CAN LIVE A PRODUCTIVE AND PEACEFULL LIFE AND NOT TAKE OR HURT ANYBODY WITHOUT FEARING A "GOD". CAN YOU? BY YOUR REMARKS I DONT THINK YOU CAN.
You are right, I can not prove to you God is real. Can you prove to me that he does not exist? Guess not! We will agree to disagree.

Having experiences with Mormons on a number of past occasions, I can say they're two-faced in the name of good. Especially where money is involved. Oh ya, don't buy the bit about the second coming, having already come and gone through "tablets found in New York." HA! Not much different than Jehovah's witnesses, only bigger!

You would never rely on the opinion or words of a criminal to tell you what a police man does. Why would you rely on an anti-mormon group to know what the church of JESUS CHRIST of latter day saints believes?

Hank & Jeffrey,
I think it would be helpful to clear up a common misconception. Being LDS isn't about being saved through Joseph Smith. Just as you said, Christ is the one and only savior, and no founder(s) of any religion may say that they are/were responsible for the atonement.
The LDS church is specifically called the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints, and while they believe Smith was a prophet, they also believe that Moses was a prophet, along with every other ancient one to be found in the Bible. To say that Mormons believe they can be "saved" through Joseph Smith and not Christ is a contradiction in itself.
They believe in the Bible and preach from it wholeheartedly. Though they have other books (such as the Book of Mormon), they are believed to be further testaments of Christ. No matter how you look at it, it all fundamentally comes back to Christ. In fact, they believe that Christ is the head of their church. Mormons believe and accept the atonement, follow Christ's teachings, pray to God, celebrate Easter and Christmas, and even go to church on (gasp) Sunday. They believe in the resurrection and the second coming and organized their church just as it was organized in biblical times (if you don’t believe me, check the Bible). While they are stricter than most, to categorize Mormons as unchristian is nothing short of ignorance.
And, coming back to the DVD distribution, there is nothing so unchristian as to condemm a group of people for their beliefs. If being Mormon meant making a choice between Christ and Smith, then proclaiming you were a Christian would mean making a decision between Noah and Christ. Sound a little ridiculous?
If you have any other questions, I would follow Adam’s advice and direct you to http://www.mormon.org/ . There you will find accurate information regarding the church and its beliefs. I’ve found that if I have questions about a church, their doctrine, or intentions, it’s always best to go directly to the church for the answers. Don’t assume you’re getting straight answers from someone who isn’t even a member of that religion. Chances are the member will know a heck of a lot more about their religion than an outsider ever will.
James,
Before you launch into yet another my-keyboard-is-stuck-on-caps-l ock-rant, let me just say one thing: You've made it quite clear what your views are on religion, but this comment was not written in a spirit of persuasion; it was written to educate.
Lady, your full of lies. Absolute. The Morman religion is not from the Bible. The Morman Christ is not the Bibles Christ.

Well written, however, has some fatal flaws. Joseph Smith was proven to be a false prophet, and the “Jesus” of the Mormon teaching is not the Jesus of the Holy Bible, while loosely using his name. Unlike Christians, Mormons do not attest that Jesus is God, yet another “prophet”. They also believe they too will become Gods through “acts” on earth, marry and populate their own “world” with several wives. Not all Mormons become God, because their “acts” were not worthy.
Did you know that Joseph Smith prophesied that the moon was actually a world and populated by a Mormon God? The Mormon Church closely parallels the wording etc of the Christian church to seem “Christian” and “close enough” to convert uneducated Christians.(Unfortunatley there are a lot of uneducated Christians, as far as their own doctrin) The Mormon Church has awesome programs, supports in tact, values and missions program. For that I admire them, they are (for the most part) wonderful, loving people, just mislead. Lastly, whenever another religion attempts to convert me, I look at it as an act of love, they care enough to try.

I couldn't agree with you more. You may like to check out an ebook I recently stumbled upon: http://truechurchsearch.com

It questions all the belief without reasoning, and the lack of tolerance, as opposed to the true lesson of Love.

Actually James, there's a great South Park episode where religion is eliminated and all the remaining atheists engage in wars over a disagreement about what the atheists should call themselves. There's also a subplot about sea otters but I won't go there...

The point being, it's silly to think that the elimination of religion will somehow eliminate problems or disputes between people or nations. Most wars are cloaked in religious excuses, but religion is rarely the true motivation for conflict. People would do far better to learn to accept either viewpoint as being a valid one, rather than insisting that one is better than the other.

BUT WHILE YOU ARE STRUGGLING TO MAKE A LIVING THESE PASTORS, PREACHERS AND WHAT EVERELSE THEY CALL THEMSELVES, I CALL THEM CROOKS, ARE DRIVING NICE CARS AND LIVING IN NICE HOUSES AND NOT WORRIED ABOUT MONEY AT ALL. WHY DOES "GOD" NEED YOUR MONEY? THESE CROOKS ARE TAKING YOUR MONEY RAPING OR FONDLING YOUR BABIES AND YOU KEEP GIVING THESE JERKS MONEY.
you say religious people are ignorant and intolerant, and yet that statement had to have been the most rude, hateful thing ive heard from someone in a long while. my church family has constantly given money, food, and services to unfortunate people in the communities of arizona, as well as haiti, mexico, and jamaica. they gave it all expecting absolutely nothing in return. people coming from non-christian backrounds can come into our house, and we will show them love, regardless of who they are! i ask nicely that you never call my brothers and sisters crooks or rapists.take care.

Honestly as a Catholic living in a very mormon community compaired to others, I've never really had issues with any mormons in my life. The mormons I know keep their religion to themselves unless asked about it by piers. Where I live it's often the christians that cause some problems and are a bit more judgmental upon others religions and overall beliefs. But when distributing this DVD I have no complaints, it's their right as American citizens. But also people have the right to believe what they believe. And if you ask me all religions are a bit out there.

THATS ALL FINE AND GOOD, IM ALL FOR WHATEVER MAKES PEOPLE HAPPY AND LIVE A PEACEFULL LIFE. I DONT FEAR DEATH AND I DONT NEED A "GOD" TO KNOW RIGHT FROM WRONG. I AM TIRED OF RELIGOUS PEOPLE PUSHING THEIR B.S. ON ME AND MY FAMILY. I DONT PUSH MY BELIEF AND IF I SAY ANYTHING ABOUT IT I AM ATTACKED. THATS ALL RELIGION IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL NOT MONEY. EVERY WAR HAS BEEN ABOUT RELIGION AND WHOS RIGHT AND WHOS WRONG. IF IT SEEMS GOOD TO YOU THEN FINE BUT I DONT CARE. THESE PEOPLE PASSING OUT THIS DVD IS JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE TRYING TO FORCE A BELIEF ON SOMEBODY. JUST LET PEOPLE LIVE AND BELIEVE WHAT THEY WANT AND NOT BECAUSE SOME FREAK SCARED THEM INTO BELIEVING IN SOME MADE UP PERSON.
I look at it like this, if I ate at a new restaurant that just opened and the food tasted great I would want to share that with someone so they could experience it also. If I found a drink that made me feel young and helped me live a fuller life than I would want to share that with friends and then others. So why should I not share my faith.
My main problem with the above comments is that I have been to lots of different Churches and Church functions. I’ve never been required to give money before or after entering any of them.

I was raised Catholic, had a lot of Baptist friends, married an Atheist, worked for the Morman Mafia, raised my children as Agnostics; and am now a Secular Humanist.

The only people I find intolerable are the intolerant.

People are what they are; and what makes them what they are is how they treat other people.

Love, don’t hate.

Peace!!!

That tells me that Baptist Catholics and Methodist do not use religion as an excuse for old perverts to have sex with children, that what that tells me.

You're all being foolish, squabbling over petty differences and ignoring the basic concept of human rights. So set to put yourselves apart from each other and not realising that you're own religions preach forgiveness and understanding of all people. The only way the world will find peace is if everybody agrees that we are all human and that life is something to be cherished and respected. I understand that your faith is what you hold most dear but by hating others for what they believe do you not contradict your beliefs. i am an Agnostic, i find religion to be to much of a bloodbath for me to get involved. why would i put myself in a position to be loved by some and hated by others, i hold true one belief and that is to make life better for whoever i can whether they be black, white, Catholic or Muslim. Some days i pray the whole world were blind, only then will we be free to see the truth. We are all searching for that one answer, What is the meaning of life? The meaning of life is to strive to feel rather than think.
Thank you.

meaning of life is so different from person to person. For me it is knowing who I am : A daughter of my heavenly father, where did I come from: From the presence of my Heavenly Father, and why am i here To learn and grow and how do I do that, by being a member of his true church living his gospel, and being firm in my faith, and being like he is, and what church is that, that teaches us these gospel truths,The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know allot of you do not accept this and condemn my beliefs, but it is my right to worship as I feel, you have the right to post all the hateful untruths you want, and I forgive everyone, as I hope they will forgive me if I have offended them, this will be my last post on this subject, I know it is true and I know i have an eternal family, and i am a Spirit child of my Father in Heaven sent here to choose right from wrong, so i may return back home to him if I live the life that will allow this. I am human and do make mistakes but i know he forgives me and helps me move forward in my progression ot Eternal life.

Anybody who says that Mormons choose Joseph Smith over Jesus Christ has absolutely no idea about what Mormons actually teach. Their prophets (including Joseph Smith) taught about Jesus Christ and how he is the only way to reach the Father. Robertson needs to reed in the Bible and tell us where it teachs to criticize and tear down others who believe in Christ.

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Cancer

Today's Full Moon will have a powerful impact on your health during the next few months. Maybe this is the spur you need to inspire you to take better care of yourself, such as improving your diet, getting more exercise or finally consulting the doctor about something that's worrying you. It will also be the end of a chapter connected with your work, but don't fret because this ending will lead on to a new beginning.
