I am a member of CBC and would like to talk about my church. I've visited many churches and most of them aren't teaching straight from the Bible or verse by verse, line by line. CBC DOES!!!!! Pastor Waterloo doesn't flap his jaws in the breeze when he speaks of the ONE TRUE GOD! He says in his messages that he doesn't talk to the Deacons, Trustees or other members to find out the troubles and then "plan" his service for that week. He prays prays prays what God wants him to send a message about. It so ironic that what he is teaching about EVERY WEEK is applicable to my life ALL the time. Hello, get my point? Also, you might be surprised to know that Pastor Waterloo and his wife Brenda don't live in a house that requires a "kings ransom" to pay for. They are HUMBLE people that are CONTENT with what they have and put no value in things of this world. They don't drive a Cadillac, Lexus, BMW or a Bentley. They drive sensible cars. If you ever see a white Toyota with the personalized tag that says "H20LOO", you'll know who owns that car. Now, can anyone else in this town say that their pastor is more humble, giving, gracious, great stewards of money, great servants of the LORD? By the way, they humbly serve in the community as well, but aren't looking for a pat on the back, because they are humble! They encourage the flock to be great stewards of the church. We All have individual talents that are unique to our church. It's amazing to see that each person within our church body has something to offer in the way of service that will help someone else. We even mow our own "lawn". We serve in ministries that we pray about that God would guide us to be involved in. In example, some of us are involved in a nursing home ministry, where we just volunteer to visit the residents (some of the residents' family live right here in Ponca City and don't go to see them). Some of us are involved in a ministry called "fancy fingers". Well, we will file their nails and let them choose a nice color of polish and this brightens their day and it makes you feel so elated to have been maybe the only person that has spent "quality time" with them for a long while. This is just the start of the many many wonderful things that WE do at Central Baptist Church. "Christ Centered, Family Focused"!!!!! Come and worship with us, it will forever change your life, if you let it. If you haven't come to a place in your life to trust in anything but yourself and you feel like you have no purpose in life, let me assure you, YOU DO HAVE A PURPOSE! Step out of the darkness, come learn about the ONE TRUE GOD, JESUS THE CHRIST! The time draws nigh, don't wait, come and get to know God before it's too late. Love in Christ Shawn L H :)

If you only go to church on Easter Sunday, then this Easter Sunday (April 4th) please come and visit our church. We are a VERY inviting church. If it will make you more comfortable, you can ask any of the "greeters" for me by my first name, Shawn, and they will know who I am. We would be happy to share with you the RIGHT way to get to know Jesus and how and why HE DIED FOR OUR SINS, HUNG ON THE CROSS AND SHED HIS BLOOD FOR US SO THAT WE MAY HAVE LIFE! Get to know what we're about and learn that we are not at this church just to "play" church, but that we have a real purpose in this life, to further the Kingdom of God and witness to one and all so that no one would perish, but have everlasting life.

If you have questions, please post, and I will to the best of my abilities, help you. In His service, Shawn L H

Hi Shawn,
Your testimony is wonderful. I have not been to church in years and figure the roof would probably cave in on me if I showed up! haha Seriously, I may just show up one of these days and take my chances. Thanks for the wonderful gentle push my way!!

To "Blackwell Voter, I assure you the roof will not cave in on you nor will the walls close in on you, either. HA You will be blessed many times over. Yes,I also plan on attending this church in the near future. I attended once to witness a baptism and was quite impressed with the warmth and acceptance of the congregation. Also, may I add you do not have to wear "Saks of 5th Avenue" clothing for the ladies nor "Guccie" suits for the men. HA HA I think you know what I refer to? The whole day I felt such joy of which I had not felt in awhile. It was truly a blessing to me!!

Thank you so much for bearing witness to my testimony! I am a humble servant of OUR LORD! I have much more to write about my testimony, but I think I will write a book about it. I'm not perfect, nor would I ever claim to be. I've had many trials and tribulations and just plain rebellious times throughout my life. Furthermore, I wouldn't be the person I am today if it weren't for those times. The situations I've been in have made me a stronger person. Everyday I have something that the devil has tried to worm his way into, but God has brought me "through the fire", metaphorically speaking. while I don't have a degree stamped, hanging on the wall, God has given me wisdom and granted me the knowledge to handle every situation with honesty, integrity and a humble spirit. I'm currently on my way after this post to the nursing home to "do nails" and see and talk to MY residents at the nursing home, as I look forward to this every other week.
By the way, Blackwell voter, are you a female or male, not that it matters, just curious so I can better understand and post here for conversation purposes.:) LOL (Love Our Lord) Hope you have a blessed day, B.V.

Thanks, Blackwell Voter, you sound mighty special and very intelligent and "in the know", politically speaking! I really like that. It is good to read posts that makes sense, and also learn something, too.

Hey, Blackwell Voter, are you alive and okay. I have not seen you post in awhile? Do you have children and are they on Spring Break? We are here in Ponca City just trying to catch up on some unpacking and just rest. At least we won't come home from an exhausting trip from wherever. Ha Ha!! My Pastor and his wife, Brenda are celebration their 25th Wedding Anniversary. Yeah!! My husband and I will be celebrating our 22nd Anniversary on July 1st. My husband always teases me and says "it's feels like it's been longer". At least I don't have the old "ball and chain" strapped to his ankle. Ha Ha Ha! We have been through a lot of rocky times, but God has brought us through the "fire".:) We have also had many joyful times as well. The good times always make up for all bad times. I looked for anyone to pop through at our church and ask for me. I know when the time is right, you'll be there. And as my mom (diamond eye) put it, the walls will not cave in. I love metaphors. I know, I'm weird, but I would rather be weird, than bury my head in the sand, and not know where my soul is going. I like to know the truth and know for sure, without the shadow of a doubt where my eternal life will be. Our entire family (me, my husband, son, and daughter) are all saved and going to heaven when the Lord Our God comes to take us away from all this "hell on earth".

By the way, if you are wondering how special you are B.V., it is not by accident that we have connected on this post. After talking to my Pastor's wife, she said that this is another way to minister to people. And after she said that to me, a light bulb went off. I asked her when she had time to read this thread and tell me what she thinks. If you are wondering what sets Central Baptist Church apart, it is this: when you are at our church, we treat you like family. We are not judgmental, we are humble. We are FAMILY! In all my years of trying to find a "church home", I've never felt the LOVE bestowed upon my family and the whole church body, the way I feel in my spirit that it should be. Everyone always says hello and strikes up conversation, that's how family is. Well, families that are close, anyway. No matter what tragedy is plaguing the world, I feel safe and alive, plus I feel after every message from the Pastor, more charged up, because as I've posted before, every message has something in it that is applicable to my life and well as everyone else's life. Hope you have a blessed day, today, B.V. SLH P.S. You are cordially invited to attend church on Easter, April 4th. Hope to meet you and connect!

I just thought of something else. Pastor told us that Easter is the easiest time to get people to come to church! So, here's an invitation to invite everyone that wants to know more about Jesus and what He did on the Cross for US, and the story of Jesus shedding His blood for us to have LIFE! Come Easter Sunday, if you don't come any other time, I believe that it will change your life forever. Ask for Shawn H and they will find me, and I will greet you with open arms.:)

Are you sure I didn't fall on my head, because sometimes I get this dreadful brain pain often. Ha Ha Ha!!! I'm just joking, as I have to laugh at something. Furthermore, I'm not ready to be 41 yet. I didn't like turning 40, because everything is going south. Ha Ha! I love you, come what may.
