Leah Pekarsky has a law degree, but instead of practicing law she has turned her passion for animals into a new business in Manlius.

I've seen the place, and I think she genuinely cares about animals. She does it sunrise to sunset, by herself. I ony worked there for a week, and never once did I see her leave a crappy situation for somebody else to deal with. 7:30am to 7:30pm. She is a dedicated woman. And she does it for the forgotten critters, And I being a country boy thinking all animals are self reliant, they are not. It takes human interaction in abandonment situations.

Rumors? Here's what I know:
i almost adopted a min pin from her (Leah). i went back 4 times, pestered her with dumb questions (1st time dog owner), and brought back all my family members. It turned out it was not the best breed for our family. However, she HELPED us figure that out, she didn't shut us out. In making the decision we learned so much about dogs - that was 6 months ago and we have come a long way, and much of it goes back to her. She is a GEM - patient, helpful, knowledgeable, and more focused on the animals than anything else. If there was a bit of sloppiness, I would have picked up on it, because I am alert and fussy.

NOT TRUE. No dog has died here, period. That is why the post was removed. This totally false allegation was started by a very unbalanced woman with a personal vendetta against Leah.

WHAT IF you don't know the truth? WHAT IF someone made false accusations against you, no matter what they were, and I decided I could not take the chance? WHAT IF you were judged as you have just judged?
The woman who made this claim needs serious mental health help. NO DOG HAS DIED and NO DOG HAS BEEN INJURED at The Dog Gone Inn.

I actually responded to the woman on Craigslist and she didn't even respond to me. I would like to know what really happend. I have taken my dog there numerous times and have never had a problem, but everyone is right - that could seriously ruin her business -- because even though I have had nothing but great experiences, now I have to think "what if" ...... but I am thinking if something bad happened - it could have happend anywhere, I am doubtful that it was something that Leah could have foreseen.

I too bring my dog there. The place is wonderful. We have been going there since it opened and never had any problems. I would highly recommend the place to anyone.

I also have been taking my dog there since she opened. I love her place, and my dog has so much fun and has NEVER come home hurt. I think it is awful to judge without knowing and meeting Lea. Yesterday when I was there, she had several puppies that her and her friend rescued from a gassing shelter in the South. She has the kindest heart and I would 100% recommend her.

To judge and take the word from a random and blind post on CL is wrong. Go and ask questions and judge for yourself. I have used Leah's services and feel confident in her abilities and establishment. I would very much question someone who would post such an inflamatory statement on CL. Somebody has some serious issues and i don't think it is Leah.

I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Leah over the past 3 years. She is a wonderful and caring person. For someone to say negative things about her or her livelihood is a disgrace.

I also had the pleasure of meeting Leah. I volunteered at her daycare for a while and she is stupendous. She goes out of her way, above and beyond to ensure that each and every dog and cat are well taken care of. She even has satellite TV for the dogs! It truly is a shame that someone is saying anything negative.

I have known Leah for years through IMPS she is the most loving person to all types of pets and has been doing this for years. If you do not know her or even believe that nonsense go and talk with her or call. She had taken her life to help animals and that is a lot more than most people do. So please do not judge her or hurt her business by some false information.Find out the truth and that is nothing happened just a very sick lady who really needs to go get help!

I volunteer nearly every day at the Dog Gone Inn and I assure you that Leah has never done anything harmful to any of her dogs. She provides the best care to all the dogs that come in and loves them as if they were her own. It is truly a pleasure volunteering for Leah.

My kids and I walk dogs there all the time. We love her place and board our pom and beagle there all the time. What she does for the dogs is nothing but the highest and the best care. She also does foster care and rescue, saving dogs from gas shelters! That is where I got my second dog. We love her place.
