Good luck Deputy. I am sure there is a place for you at BSO even in a support role but hang in there. Your young enough to rebuild your strength and coordination. Ignore the scumbags posting trash on this thread. They are what you went to work for every day to hunt.

Thank God he is doing so well. I have wondered how he was doing. I hope he fully recovers and one day looks back on this as a very bad period of his life. Take care. May people are praying for you.

Now I wonder if she left him because she could not handle this situation. Shame on her if that is the case. The earlier articles and news reports showed her and now no mention. Just to comment on your blog, I am not sure where Jody is in this scenario, but realize this it takes a certain kind of woman to deal with an injury of this magnitude I married my husband after he was disabled he too was a promising LEO at 28 and was involved in an accident that changed everone's life in his family, he had 3 young children the reason his ex-could not deal with it was becuase of the life altering changes that occurred. She said she left becuase of her kids and hey whatever, we have been married for 30 yrs now, and yes I hope and pray that Maury has complete recovery from this terrible accident,he has a long road ahead of him, the one thing that my husband wass robbed of was his memory. So Maury you hang in there and take special care of yourself. Your strengh and courage will get you through this. Continue to heal........deputy. Prayers continue. Well, since you seem to know them so well (you address his wife by her first name) then you should know that the Clerk of Courts shows them as going through a divorce which was filed in March. "Jody" sounds like a looser bit**ch!

Get the guns off our streets. Our state legislators have his blood on their hands. And now they passed a law to make sure all the nut cases here can bring their guns to work? Tallahassee legislators please step down.

To Wife of Disabled Leo and to Maury: I can relate to these true stories because it happened to me too. I suffered serious brain and other injuries in a traffic accident in December 1998. I had been scheduled to take my physical agility test for a sheriff's department shortly after(Broward County Sheriff's Department and some other departments). I lost all my ability to walk without assistance and running was out of the question.I lost periphreal vision out of my left eye and had bad speech problems. My memory was toast and forget about long term memory.I did very poorly and scored severely impaired in most of the physch tests in 2001 or 2. Not to mention the spasticity I had in my arms and legs. Maury and Leo Wife I started doing research on the internet on what kind of defect could have caused my injuries and I really believe and I give God all the credit too that my keeping my brain active helped repair it.That and much therapy of course. Now I not only walk normally but I can run very fast and my arms and legs have full range of motion with no stiffness. I have been building my body up by doing push-ups, sit-ups etc. Also my periphreal vision has returned. You guessed it. I am preparing for my physical agility test for "Broward County Sheriff's Department". Maury, that department has shown you what "True Love and Compassion" for your fellow human beings is really all about. You hang in there Maury and you will soon be throwing that cane away.Look at physical therapy this way,it may be very painful but it is necessary to get you back where you want to be and belong "Back On The Force and at Full Throttle" It would be an honor for me to be on that force.Take care. It takes a special woman to understand and support a husband when he gets hurt I believe that when you get married is for better or for worse, unfortunatelly not everyone remenber those words at time like this, people get overwhelm and they don't know how to handle it. I am very happy that you have supported your husband and love him and I am sure that makes you a special wife and he knows it. Officer Maury will find someone as caring as you one day, now what's important is his recovery his family and friends love him and had supported him and God had help so far that count's for something. Don't you think? Also a strong man or woman that really loves her partner would be able to deal with a situation like this. When you love someone is for forever!!!
