No. The problem with Akin and his kind are that they are so opposed to abortion under any circumstances that they are willing to claim that pregnancy does not result from "legitimate" rape. So they blame the victim for becoming pregnant.
The number of people opposed to abortion in the case of rape or incest is tiny, mostly religious idiots. Same in the case of a badly deformed or retarded child.
And those folks voted against Romney because of his religion.
Useless baggage.
He actually said he understood it to be rare. At least one physician agreed in my research but I didn't spend too much time looking into it.

Most pro-lifers believe rape to be one of the few exceptions. Just like Romney.

He even tried to tie Sadaam Hussein to 9/11 on 9/14/ 03;
Well, no, there's never been any connection made.

So, what did Realtime do to avoid creating lots of little Realtimes?
Patience and understanding.

Farm kids didn't exactly need to be told about the facts of life. Well, maybe the wheat farmer kids did.

Thanks, EasyEed. Galt mostly agrees.
However, cite for us the section of Washington law and/or regulations that requires all patrons purchasing liquor to produce identification. Galt submits that your observations are based on policies of the establishment, not on law. The law states that license holders MAY request identification, not SHALL request identification.
"John Galt"
They may request ID. Correct. But if they do not and the person is in the bar illegally they are subject to fines and possible license loss. Recently I met my daughter and her husband for a drink. My daughter was asked for her ID. She produced it. The server said they ID persons they do not know if they look younger than 40. My daughter was thrilled, she is 47.

Sounds like abstinence, at least when the field was fertile.

"Illegally" means underage, not lacking identification.

Depends on the definition of "liberal", which is foreign to today's Socialist Democrat Party.

Liberals believe in individual rights versus the state. No true liberal would ever force Obamacare.

It was abstinence__but not sworn or pledged or any of that silliness__ but sort of like seasonal abstinence. Kinda like__OK next Tuesday just to be on the safe side__and then on Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday twice and maybe Sunday afternoon right after church down by the lake, maybe even in the lake if the ice melts.

Understood, and Galt agrees that the pledging is silly.

If more could follow that practice, then the need for abortion would be minimal.

Charlie Rangel too. He recently said "millions" of children have been killed by assault weapons. According to statistics, approximately 550 children were killed by guns in 2012.
Most them were in the hallways of his constituents' apartment buildings. Those crimes are so normal, they are underreported without anger or protest by the black community.

And many of his future constitutents were killed by syringe and forceps, which Democrats find acceptable and encourage over abstinence and personal responsibility.

Abstinence and personal responsibility interfere with the Victim Industry and are perceived as racist discussions.

The United States of America have exhibited, perhaps, the first example of governments erected on the simple principles of nature; and if men are now sufficiently enlightened to disabuse themselves of artifice, imposture, hypocrisy, and superstition, they will consider this event as an era in their history. Although the detail of the formation of the American governments is at present little known or regarded either in Europe or in America, it may hereafter become an object of curiosity. It will never be pretended that any persons employed in that service had interviews with the gods, or were in any degree under the influence of Heaven, more than those at work upon ships or houses, or laboring in merchandise or agriculture; it will forever be acknowledged that these governments were contrived merely by the use of reason and the senses.

Secrets of the right-wing conspiracy playbook

The debate over immigration and the border is a classic example of how the extreme right manipulates real issues

The extremist right in America has always fed on real grievances that go either unaddressed or are mishandled by the mainstream system—by government, and in particular the federal government. In the 1980s and ’90s, they channeled discontent with badly malfunctioning federal farming and land-use policies in rural America into uprisings like the Posse Comitatus and Patriot/militia movements and their various offshoots, such as the Montana Freemen. This led to armed standoffs with federal agents and varying waves of domestic terrorism, all of it emanating from the American heartland.

What these extremists always tell their audiences is that there are simple reasons for their current miseries—inevitably, it is a combination of a secret cabal of elite conspirators running society like a puppet show at the top, crushing the middle-class working man from above, while a parasitic underclass saps his strength from below. This usually plays out, in the worldview of right-wing extremists, as being part of a secret conspiracy to enslave ordinary working people and destroy America.

What gives them special traction, however, is their knack for finding unaddressed grievances and exploiting them as examples of this conspiracy, thus manipulating working-class people who have legitimate problems. Their agenda comes wrapped in an appeal telling people that they not only feel their pain but have the answers to end it. And their strategy works, time and again.

What makes me laugh immediately everytime I come on this thread is, all the whining from so called well off people who look & laugh in the face of poverty ! Point fingers & shift blame from themselves to others like claiming & sometimes unconsciously claiming Americas problems are black or white, when they're both black & white! For those that don't know & to whom it may concern: this is not an American problem, it's a human or inhumane problem! The attitude of some of you posters are appalling! Ignorant to the fact that the bums in America live better than those in truly impoverished countries! Not only that, but it's been part of the elites plans to play the rich against the poor, white against the black, smart against the dumb, & through centuries of enduring said plan we apply it unconscious & effortless! Not understanding that has us stuck in a time warp. What puzzles me is how we can look at the statistics of the top 1% vs the 99% & continue to point fingers at eachother. I went to an Amish market today & reality dawned on me. Such a beautiful thing to see! Amish kids working along side their parents without question. Not moping around as if they had something better to do, but working in attempt to lighten the load on their parents & at the same time prepping themselves for when it's their time to carry the weight of the world on their shoulders! This country has put so much burden on ourselves that our children feel compelled to commit crimes or drop out of school to help support their house holds. Greed won't allow this country to truly prosper. Maybe if I simplify things you Al might understand. Would you rather be rich & everytime you go out with your friends you pay for everything or everybody have their own money & pay their own way. It seems alot of you would rather be rich & only taking care of your own not worried about anyone else. As a man I have that God spirit inside of me that says," put me anywhere, I will survive," but there are children that are suffering from adults ignorance! There's a war going on, but instead of guns knowledge is weapon & were allowing them to play us against each other when in reality we're all on the same team. Time to close our eyes & open our minds people!

Only creative book keeping and statist liberals would call a tax break a debit. Of course, if one assumes all money belongs to the government, before and after taxation, then one could theoretically conclude anything less than a complete confiscation of currency on April 15, would be a loss of potential income. It also assumes any money left in circulation after April 15, is due to the goodness and beneficence of the government. Two kinds of people see things this way; politicians who dream of complete control and the dregs who live off them.
Only a Mighty Dumb Builder thinks that lowering incoming revenue doesn't add to the deficit.

A tax break is a reduction in the current tax revenue.
