Flake never was too good at math.

His 'Chicken Little' commentary consists of;

"The sky is falling, the sky is falling!!!"

He hasn't been correct on a single one of his predictions.

I think he's got a bad case of anxiety disorder.

It's hard to believe this is happening.

Don't I know it Carol. On another note the price of corn is set to go up over a dollar in the first quarter. For those of you who can't read that doesn't mean it will go over a dollar. Lt means it will go from around $7.35 to $8.50 in the first quarter.

So, you won't say whether the income taxes were paid.

You can't tell me the difference between the Univ paying the with holding & handing the guy a $10k Check & giving the gut a $12.5K bonus, talking 2.5K for with holding & handing the guy a check for 10K.

What does this have to do with people paying higher tax rates?

NOTHING.

So the school is paying the guy more than they publish - the income taxes are being paid.

You're wrong babe, particularly about Nagin for he was only the Mayor of New Orleans, Katrina knocked the sht out of many other municipalities located in three different states where Nagin had zero authority.
US Corps of Engineers controls the bulk of the S Loiusiana levee systems.
US Coast Guard controls the bulk of the Mississippi Delta
Bureau of Ocean Energy__US Department of Mining and Minerals
US Department of the Interior
Are you seeing a trend here Carol???
Bush didn't need anyone's permission to order precautionary measures__and he didn't__he sat on his azz in Crawford until it was too late and the whole Delta was a clstrfk.
Even a New Orleans newspaper says Nagin is a liar:

"Ray Nagin's claims about NOPD crumble under investigation"

http://www.nola.com/politics/index.ssf/2011/0...

Why do you liberals - and enigmas - insist on believing liars?

Washington Post - "Federal officials tried to wrest authority from Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Babineaux Blanco.

"Shortly before midnight Friday, the Bush administration sent her a proposed legal memorandum asking her to request a federal takeover of the evacuation of New Orleans.... The administration sought unified control over all local police and state National Guard units reporting to the governor. Louisiana officials rejected the request after talks throughout the night concerned that such a move would be comparable to a federal declaration of martial law."

Who are you going to believe? A liar or the Washington Post?

beating them over the head with their own stick(s)....

If Republicans “Stand and Fight,” They’ll Suffer a Major Defeat

The evidence suggests that most Americans will blame the GOP in the event that there is no deal, and it isn’t a close contest. The Republican Party already has a poor favorability rating, and failing to reach a deal will make that worse. When 19% of Republicans and 52% of independents are going to blame Republicans for the lack of an agreement, there is no way that Republicans in Congress can gain political advantage. At this point, they can either limit the damage to themselves, or they can suffer another major political defeat just weeks after their last one. Republicans are still living with the blame their party received for the country’s economic woes four years ago, and they haven’t yet recovered from that. It is absurdly optimistic to expect that the GOP can recover from both that previous damage and other newly-inflicted wounds. If this were simply a case of suffering a minor setback for the sake of some larger gain later on, it might be worth taking a risk, but that isn’t the case here.

Defending Bush-era tax rates at all costs would be harmful enough to the party’s already battered reputation, but refusing to deal would also mark the party as politically incompetent as well as intransigent. One of the party’s many problems is that it trashed its brand as the party of limited government many years ago. Nothing they do now can destroy an image that was defaced long ago. The more important problems for the party are that it has been branded as too incompetent to govern well and far too oblivious to the views of people outside the party. Failing to reach an agreement would exacerbate both of these problems, and that would be ruinous to the prospects for Republican revival and recovery over the longer term.
