Gosnell was not - in general - doing legal abortions. Not much was legal that was going on in his clinic.
Stop being an ass and trying to compare the murderer Gosnell with actual health clinics that are well regulated and operating well within the limits of the law Inkstain.
I see you're back to make your usual fool of yourself. Idiot.
He was only doing what his patients wanted. These women made the decision to abort their babies and he complied.f these women [thousands] didn't want to be rid of their children, he wouldn't be in business, would he?

What is the states interest in preventing a woman from aborting an unborn child?
That would depend on the state. Why don't you write to them all and ask them?

The point is, that it's the STATES that have the civil rights in this instance, not the fetus.

I get it!!! I truly do!!! There is no easy answer. We are sinful people, we Will do sinful things. Someone must pay for our choices. I am not a woman, but is it normal to want the life inside you gone at any cost? It must mean the sex it took to produce it was just as empty as the womb post abortion /dnc??? I refer back to my first statement -we are sinners /we Will sin.
It doesn't fit in the evolution scale, but thanks be to God for grace and mercy, to all and any who wish to have it.
Your concept of sin is only relevant to you.

Riiight, because some pregnant women seeking abortion don't have to face idiotic regulations and other nonsensical hurdles keeping them having a legal, safe abortion early on in their unwanted pregnancies.
Leave it to you to willingly, willfully, believe women seek to abort for the hell of it.
He has been operating for many years. I don't think his patients had to face nonsensical hurdles that prevented them from having safe legal abortions.

It is a lie because that is not the message.
The point you people seem to miss about Gosnell is that he wasn't doing business legally, or with an eye for safety. That IS a difference that you guys don't want to acknowledge. And it's dishonest on your part.
And the fact is that if abortion were to be made illegal again, the abortions won't stop, and people like Gosnell will be the ONLY ones doing them. Without it being legal, no laws would even be in place to restrict any of it.
Pretend we're not talking about abortion for a minute. Would you really rather there be no healthcare codes, no restrictions on what someone may medically do, people practicing any kind of medicine without training or a license?
Knowing what I know, if we must have legal abortion, then yes I would want it to be as safe as possible for the woman that is obtaining the abortion. We know the outcome of the baby, but spiritualy speaking -I feel I "know " what happens to the babies, and can only pray the woman finds the peace she needs. I wouldn't wish any harm on any woman seeking an abortion, not ever! She can.live to fight through her own issues.

Their interest is in protecting the live of the viable baby that the mother is trying to kill.

Gtown, you're a MORON. STop trying to compare drunk driving with the personal, private medical decision to abort. A decision that does not and will not affect you in ANY way, shape or form.
I disagree, there is no way with all of the abortions that have taken place since RvW, that it hasn't effected all of us in some way. I must admit I've missed your flare :)
Tell elise I miss her to, but she still "knows " I'm a jerk :(

I hope all is well with you and her. And your wife, and I do mean that.:)
I have no I'll will toward any, just killing time on my way to the house.

You're an idiot.

Gosnell is on trial for murder, among numerous other crimes, because WOMEN died under his knife.

They were determined to have abortions, but didn't have access to a safe one. That's a result of the regulations such as 'wider hallways,' and 'distance from a school' which closed many clinics otherwise following the law.

Pro-choice isn't in favor of ridiculous limits on access to legal safe abortion.

That would be your team.

Says you.

Point is that it doesn't matter why any state that places restrictions does so. It's irrelevant. The only parties with civil rights in the issue of abortion are the woman, and the state. No one single solitary embryo or fetus has any civil rights whatsoever. Deal with it.

Your post here is tacit acknowledgement that there IS a difference between what Gosnell did, and what legally run clinics do.

Why didn't these women have access to a safe abortion?

So where are all the PA women having their abortions now if Gosnell was the ONLY place to get one?

And yet there are battered women. And young girls run by their pimps. Etc..they are victims. Not s lot of choice there..no sympathy for these women?
Legally they have a choice. But in reality their abusers can push them into getting rid od the proof of tape..prostitution. or just plain inconvenient babies..What a wonderful thing this is tor men who abuse women. And young girls..
I raised my sons not to rape or be pimps. Raise your daughters to defend themselves against attackers, and not to sell their bodies for sex.

Battered women choose crappy men, and/or to stay with jerks who abuse them. There are no victims...only volunteers. I know - I left my abuser, and have never subjected myself to another one. It's called 'self-respect'. I got some.

We ALWAYS have choices. Some are harder to make than others, but the choices are always there, and they are always our own.

If you cause an accident and need hospitalization, you are allowed to get it.

If you go skiing and break your leg, you can have it treated.

If a woman has sex and happens to get pregnant, she has EXACTLY the same right to treat it as she chooses.

The entire basis of medicine is to "fix it" regardless of the cause. Doctors aren't judges or juries.
Gtown71 wrote:

You seem to equate getting pregnant, as any other normal bodily function. I and many others do not. There are the extremes on both sides. One is like skinning fish, by the???? Of pounds a day with no big deal, and the others who say if a woman is pregnant for any reason and even if it is clear she will die, and her baby has already died, then they should let nature take it's course. I am all for grace and mercy, it is at my "core ", but there must be a better way /a better message being sent, other than who cares do as you please, and we will "fix" it, HELLO? ;)

You'd have to ask the State's legislators.

But you won't, because you don't really want to know. You just want to sit in judgment at your computer, bleat out the same inane questions, and pretend you're 'preventing' some woman, somewhere, from making her own legal medical choices.

Weird.

It's weird that you can't think of a single reason why the state would interfere in a woman's right to choose. You just accept it.

Actually, it was bill clinton who said the abortion quote.

Wrong. Approximately 3500 women will make a choice to end their pregnancies. And approximately three times as many will make the choice to CONTINUE their pregnancies.
No, the numbers don't stagger me, because I realize two things...
a)It's always a question of one woman making a choice for one pregnancy, and
b)It's none of my business.
I should care what Hillary Clinton says, why, exactly?
