Paris Hilton is a God and can do not wrong. Anything that makes Paris money is good for the everyone. Hopefully Paris will come and stay and put Pompano Beach on the map as a nice place instead of being known as a ghetto.
WE LOVE YOU PARIS!!!

Sounds like extortion by the condo association to allow the builder for the go-ahead on the building. Actually, the builder should have in escrow $1M for any damages from the construction and heavy traffic for the next 7 to 10 years. This way the condo do not miss-use the funds and the builder can audit the charges. Can you tell me what rights does the condo on property they do not own and a public beach area?

Sure, pay me off and I'll shut up. More overcrowding of the beach front area. We don't need more cities that look like Hallandale!

That area has so much blight that I can't understand why anyone wouldn't want a nice new Luxury hotel there. If anything, they should be complaining that there's been a fenced-off vacant deteriorating hotel next to them.

You're apparently too stupid to understand any educated response.

I hope that management will properly warn guests of the perils(crime) that they will endure in Pompano Beach once they leave the property of the hotel. They should at least put the warning on the Hilton website.

Lets get real, the claridge opposed on the ground that they were 1st and don't disturb my view ws the real reason. The area is a blight and the only area from Ft. Lauderdale to Boca where u can easily find and buy drugs. No problem they were paid off and the Hilton will be a welcome addition to the beach area.

I ride A1A form From Lauderdale to Boca and I never even see the beach. Its behind the concrete barriers (known locally as condos) and they prevent me from seeing the sand and the water.

Any addition to the beach area in Pompano, especially a luxury hotel is a welcome addition. Locals using the beach use the areas off Hillsboro, Commercial or Sunrise. Pompano is old and needs a facelift. Hopefully this will reenergize the area. Locals will use the restaurants and banquet areas, and it will bring those tourist dollars. It's a win win. Those condo owners are whiners that were lucky enough to get paid off for their whining.

This building will reduce the sun exposure on the Claridge beach and pool to the morning hours only. Not what people pay $800,000 for a seaside condo for. With a huge tacky Hilton next door instead of the small tacky Ramada that had been there, the Claridge owners took a big hit in market value. Knowing their board, the $400,000 bribe the board (not the owners) will control will be wasted.

Probably some smart owners sold as soon as they heard. If not, way too late now. Not just because of Hilton, the RE mkt is in a death spin all over.

Wait till the incessant drilling, rumbling concrete and steel trucks, constant dust starts. Then all the displaced little crawly creatures start looking for new homes.

That board is in for a lot of grief over next couple of years once the construction noise and traffic begins. They should buy every owner a nice set of Bose noise cancelling earphones with some of the $400K. And some extra house cleaners to help with the dust.
