I started kickboxing at John Wai Kung Fu Academy last summer and I love it! It's the best, most well-rounded workout class I've been to. The instructors are encouraging, welcoming, and always enthusiastic (even at 6:30 am!) I highly recommend their classes if you're looking for a fun and motivating workout!

I starting kickboxing about a year ago and I've never been in better shape. I was never one that enjoyed working out until I started coming here. The trainers are incredible they know how to push us and motivate us. They keep the work outs new and challenging so it never gets boring. I highly recommend john Wai. It's truly changed my life

It all started with a losing weight idea... Coming to find out I found my #1 hobbit. Everything about this school is amazing. ( trainers, classes, location ...,) I wouldn't trade my kickboxing for anything else. Love it and I intend on doing it for a very long time.

Instructors are very knowledgeable as they are fighters themselves, so you are really learning the moves with correct form. I am new to kickboxing, and their classes are filled with men and women of all skill levels :)
I like that they know your name and encourage you to always strive for your personal best. Really reasonable package prices too!!

John Wai Kung Fu Academy is a great place to work out. The staff and instructors are amazing. I started last May when I bought the ten kickboxing class package off of groupon. After my first class I was hooked. I ended up buying an additional 50 classes. The class is a quick 45 minutes and you leave drenched in sweat. I would recommend this place to anyone and I do all the time.

I started Kickboxing in June and havenít stopped going since then. I absolutely love the classes. Everyone who works there is fantastic, super motivating, and extremely helpful. They make you want to come to class more and more every week. I have never found working out so much fun before. The staff is very personable and from the moment you walk in the door the first time they treat you like family. Kickboxing is by far the best workout I have ever had.

I have been attending Adult Kickboxing classes in the morning for almost 7 years. I started at 45 and was out of shape. Participating in the classes gave me the courage and motivation to complete The Warrior Dash, Down and Dirty Mud Run, and the Superhero Scramble in the last few years (look 'em up and you'll see how challenging they can be...and I couldn't have done it without the training and support of the awesome instructors and my classmates!))The instructors keep the class fresh and fun, bringing in new exercises regularly. You do not need any prior experience to learn and enjoy. I consider the instructors and my classmates to be family and look forward to sharing many more years together.

Nothing like phony post from the school owner to get free advertising on a forum,
Cheap bastards that they are.

I started kickboxing classes at John Wai Kung Fu Academy 2 months ago, and I love it!! The environment is so welcoming. Every time I walk in, I am greeted by name. Each class is new and different, so I never get bored. The instructors and assistants are amazing! They motivate me to keep going, even when I think I've got nothing left. Go in and try one class... I guarantee you'll be hooked!

Yep every other week it is the same bullsh*t. Oh it is great, oh, I love them. How hedonistic, and blowing your own horn can someone be.

Worst of all, the damn owner thinks the world is stupic enough to think that know would ever believe that he is posted the love fest notes themselves.

I just want to say that John Wai Kung Fu is one of the worst places to train. Not only do they have the most God awful place, the staff make you really feel like your crap. I've had tried all different types of workout class and studios but nothing sucks like John Wai Kung Fu . I loath the kickboxing classes, not only does it not get you in shape, but it screws with your mind and body. The Kung Fu classes are boring as all hell . Honestly , you will be disappointed with any class you take there. It is one of the worst places to start if your looking for anykind of healthy lifestyle! Can't stressed that enough!

Okey it is six months since I started lessons at the academy. I stopped going three months ago. What a waste of "TIME AND MONEY!"
Others who attended the shcool but no longe go there feel the same way.
The instructors constantly seem angry and bitter towards you.
I don't see how some can even think of calling themselves experts. The insturctor I had most of the time was Martin Dvorok. This scrawny sob could not punch through a wet paper bag. It's location is anything but safe, the shopping plaza on University is one crime ridden area. I found that out the first night class I took.

Okey here is how my first visit went. I shelled out big bucks for one simple class and the worst work out clothes you can imagine. My first physical contact was having my so called personal trainer kick my square in the nads.
Tamer, my trainer asked if I was hurt. All I could do was nod my head yes. I could not say that I was hurt because my b*lls had been kicked clear up into my throat by the moron.

I have not finished my class nor do I intend to do so anytime soon if ever.
I do not know what hurts worse, the kick in the nads or the reaming my *ss took from the money I forked over to the academy.

University and Lauderdale Blvd is not the safest place to have a business as another person said.

I have been taking kickboxing at John Wai for a little bit now and I've never felt this way about working out before. I actually enjoy this. From the very first class I felt encouraged by both the staff and the other people in my class. You get a SERIOUS workout but you still want to come back as many times as possible! Totally recommended

Okey an update from me as well. What a 180 degree change from my first class. Once they got the rest of my money I was treated like sh&t. The instructors became anger and voiced there displeasure with just about everything I did. Like the other person leaving a message here, I do not when or if I will return to the place.
It's all about the money to the owner. All smiles and giggles, that is until your credit card clears and they have your cash.
Then it's "why do you bother even coming here, you don't listen to anyone or do anything you are told.
