I used to be in the news business and we always had a rule of thumb, if you hear it from two different sources, you got a story. This one is a bomshell to "DOAC" Harrah's will be laying off 500 employees from its four different properties, total. When, I don't know, but like I have been saying in the past, fasten your seatbelts after Labor Day, its coming, layoffs that is and they're now here, most likely to be followed by many more, like Genauradi's in EHT, with 125 employees gone Christmas.

Vote Romney!

OK Mr. Put Down, when the pink slips start flying and you read it about it in a real credible source of local news, The Press of Atlantic City, just remember where you heard about it first! I just love smart asses who don't know their head from a hole in the ground!

I hope you are not near retirement because if Romeny gets in there will be no Medicare and big big taxes for the middle class but nothing to worry about if your worth over 10 million you will pay practically no taxes. But the truth is we have no say in who gets voted in its the electoral college.

How could anyone expect Obama to fix the mess Bush made out of this country.

Spoken like a true Dumbacrat! 23,000,000 people out of work, 46,000,000 on Food Stamps, three and a half years into Obama's presidency and when will he own his mistakes and stop the crap of useing Bush as an excuse for his failures? Don't worry champ, the Anointed One will take care everything if elected for another four years, just like he did when he had a majority of Democrats in congress to back him. Duh!!!!

I don't know which one I'm more afraid of being elected.

Obama keeps talking about equal pay for women, but seems to be mostly talking about black women.

White women don't have anybody who is on fire for their rights.

In the words of the Democratic hero, Franklin Roosevelt, "There is nothing to fear, but fear itself". Fast forward to the present, if this country goes any further into the financial tank and wind up like Greece, or Spain, you will not have to worry about your salary as a woman, we'll ALL be on our ass financially, maybe even homeless and starving. Nobody more sexist than Obama throwing Hillary under the bus over our Ambassador and his staff, being killed in cold blood and letting HER "take one for the team". Believe me when I say this, Buba ain't happy to see his wife being bent over by Obama, instead of him being like another well known Democratic president, Harry Truman, who said "The buck stops here" and had a sign on his desk that said so. Wish Obama would take a clue from former presidents of his party and man up, if he can.

Have anyone of you been watching the recent news about the lines going around the cornor at the Pleasantville One Stop Career Center consisting of laid-off casino employees? Although the layoffs, as I had said before, were alrady in the works, now Sandy has excellerated the process and the casinos are dumping hundreds of their employees to the curb! My critics should take note of this and learn!

This is very bad for the local folks.
Mr. Obama's economy was already bad and getting worse and now the storms hit.
I hope it improves soon.

You ain't seen nothing yet, Susan! Wait till January 1st hits, it will make Sandy look like a blank in a windstorm when automatic tax increases kick in and an estimated 2,000,000 additional people, on top of the already existing 23,000,000 people are out of work. American's wanted Obama, they got him! I predict he wll not budge one inch with the Republican Congress to save our butts! Glad I voted for Romney and sleep with a clear conscience that I tried to do good by my country. I saw this one coming. Forget God bless America, try God HELP America! Was driving by the One Stop again today and the lines, again, extended to the rear of the building to it's front doors for people to get in to file for unemployment!

Isn't it sort of normal to temporarily lay off people in the winter months down in AC?

Hi Josh, Happy Thanksgiving, thank you for always being a true Gentleman!

Has anyone been paying attention to the rapid decline in the casino industry in "DO AC" see my last post back in November of last year? Taj, sold for a paultry $20 million, Revel, bye bye, over all winings, in the tank. Layoffs,as I pointed out back then, on the RAPID rise! Why?? Can you say Perskie,Langford or Gormley who said Philadelphia erected "tin shacks" for casinos! Leadership in "DO AC" is non-existent! Town's bulkheading infrastructure, shot! Go down to North Texas Avenue, or Bungalow Park part of the town when everytime there is a high tide, full moon, people loss cars and have further damage to their homes. Will somebody PLEASE wake up and smell the coffee and DO SOMETHING, before the breadbasket of the State goes out of existance!

As "DO AC" is the "breadbasket" of New Jerey, write, call, email Gov. Christie, to do like what was done to thug city, Camden, a State takeover from top to bottom! If "DO AC" looses it's ass to crime, crooked politicos, etc., then just kiss NJ bye bye!!!
