Jury begins deliberations in J&J vaginal mesh lawsuit

A New Jersey jury began deliberating on the first lawsuit to go to trial over whether Johnson & Johnson's Ethicon unit properly designed a vaginal mesh implant and adequately warned of its risks.
I read somewhere on the net that it was noted in one of the trials that J&J purportedly released the Prolift prior to gaining the FDA's approval through the 510(k) clearance process. It's daunting to know that patients' best interest only comes in second for some device manufacturers, or even drug makers. The site bladderslingrecall.us may have more info on this.
I came across some posts about bladder sling recall and found that Linda Gross is just one of many women who decided to take legal action against Johnson & Johnson. I am glad that Linda Gross won her case against J&J and left an encouraging note to other women who may also be waiting to take the stand in court.
I read on this blog http://womenrightsandhealth.webs.com/apps/blo...
that there are several transvaginal mesh lawsuits involving the products made by Ethicon, Coloplast, American Medical Systems, Inc., Boston Scientific Corp., and C.R. Bard, Inc. have made their way to courts. Recently, a bellwether trial has been set for lawsuits concerning C.R. Bardís Avaulta mesh products, and the first trial for this will begin on June 11, 2013. This trial will allow plaintiffs and defendants to determine how future court cases will go or how similar lawsuits against C.R. Bard in the future might be decided.
