A friend of mine, who is a recent casuality of the decline in the DO AC economy, went to the One Stop Career Center in Pleasantville to file a claim for unemployment.
He told me he was creeped out that there is a bank of telephones onwhich person, after person, after person, files a claim over the same telephones, not knowing who has what from the person before them, useing the same telephone. Yuck!
Common sense would tell you that in this flu season, along with the retrovirus going around, warrents a cleaner way to file a claim and not put your health at risk.
He said that while waiting outside in a line that went around the building, people were sneezing, coughing and spiting on the ground.
Where the hell is the Board of Health in this matter?
He noticed employees there were going around with symptoms of being sick too, can only guess from working in that infectious hellhole of a building.

I guess you don't realize the stupidity of your post, otherwise you would not have put it on the site in the first place!
It is NOT the responsibility of the public to bring in cleansing products into a State Office to avoid getting sick from their poor sanitary practices. What's next do you propose, bring in your own TP when you have to go potty??? I , for one, am appauled that such a practice of maintaining an unsanitary enviornment used heavily by the unemployed public is going unchallenged, this during the height of not only a flu outbreak, but a retrovirus you can get sick from withing hours and put you flat on your back. Bad enough to be out of work, but to wind up sick over poor sanitary practices in a State run unemployment office, is off the hook!

A friend of mine's sister works at the One Stop. The building is devided into two floors, downstairs is where Employment and Unemployment Services are. The second floor is where job training and social services (welfare) are located. She describes the building this way, that downstairs is the snakepit and the upstairs is the cesspool. The workers do only what they are told to do, or else! Sad, huh? And who suffers the most beside the workers in this kind of meatgrider enviornment? The public who pay for it with their taxpayer dollars, you and me! That's who!!!
