She must have jumped in front of the train. That's a long stretch of straight track there... the engineer could have seen someone on the track in plenty of time to stop.

This is why I endorse Bionics in all people, If this woman hab been equipped with Bionics she could have jumped right over the train. --Lee Majors

"Investigators did not immediately determine why she was on the tracks"-I believe this part of the new Obamacare program for seniors.

Wow, most of these comments on here are inconsiderate. There is no one to blame, maybe she has alzheimers and got lost and didn't know where she was. And, it's not easy to stop one of these trains on a dime..
My condolences to the family and may she rest in peace...

I really don't understand why there are so many deaths involving trains in Southern California. Is the concept difficult to comprehend?

This is very dangerous section of the tracks with many pedestrians.
I'm surprised something like this hasn't happened sooner...

You know, I agree with you. I sometimes think that people who get hit by trains must be on the tracks for a purpose. You see a train coming, you get out of the way- the train doesn't just magically pop up..so see it well before it obliberates you!!!

However; poor lady, maybe she had some sort of dementia. Or just could move quick enough. May she rest with the angels and watch over her family.:(

We never have these accidents in Visalia,CA.Gee,maybe that's because tax dollars weren't spent here to have Metro Links or in this case Dairylinks.

Hose the tracks down, investigate off to the side. No need to delay the rest of us that manage not to get hit by trains.

TO those who are completely insensitive and rude...no one can pass judgement besides the Lord. Keep that in mind please.
She was the greatest Grandmother ever. She was sick. Very sick. Please remember "if you don't have anything nice to say...just dont say anything at all".
Thank you to those who are sending thoughts our way. I appreciate it.

Some of you are inconsiderate pricks. Get a life and do something with a purpose, rather than passing judgement on an elderly woman you know nothing about. This was one of my best friend's grandmothers and I know she and her family could use the love and support of kind-hearted people, not trash talk and sarcastic jokes.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Capricorn

Take things slowly and all will be well. However, you must resist a tendency to be perfectionist over things that don't really matter, otherwise you'll never finish the chores. If you're busy with Christmas preparations, you'll have to control a nagging feeling that you've got to compete with the way other people have done things in the past.
