UCLA FOOTBALL NOTEBOOK: Neuheisel says Prince will remain No. 1 QB

One day after telling reporters on a conference call that he planned to put the quarterback position back up for grabs, UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel said sophomore Kevin Prince will start against Houston on Saturday at the Rose Bowl. Read more

Matt, CT doesn't understand that...he thinks that because USC has the most 5-stars recruits it makes their class great and anyone that has played or coached football knows the games are won and lost in the trenches... if those 5-star players aren't at the right positions they are worthless to a certain degree I see USC 's class as the worst they've had. They have had 7 de-commitments that include 2 OLinemen and 3 SLinemen and have not replaced them, they have instead offered to more DBs and WRs...I am not saying it to be over critical, bur rather to point out their failure and to knock CT off his horse, because apparently he does NOT get it.

Wow since 2003 USC has had 38 (plus this years 6, if they can keep thenm) 5-star recruits sign with them...that is very impressive indeed. My question is why have they not won at least 6 National championships if the 5-stars meant they are actually as good as they are billed? my guess is they are over rated, and the "star status" means squat! Here are the list of every USC 5-star commit since 2003.
2012
Zach Banner - over hyped (still young & too early to judge.
Nelson Agholor - could be a star

Yeah, no more remarks about how "those Punahou boys are making them so proud".

1) Teo being a lying scum, either trying to get the sympathy Heisman vote OR trying to hide from who he is by creating a beard.
2) Tuiasosopo creating the fake identity.
3) Seau's family trying to make some blood money, by suing the NFL.

Pathetic.

I don't know about 4 per class, but you're right. It needs to be more of a priority than we've made it.

I'll take 4 stars that preform to 5 stars that don't
Like I mentioned last season was definitely underachievement, but the point is you'll take 4 star because that is ALL YOU CAN GET! Yours is a redundant comment for a historically mediocre recruiting (B)ruin team that finally had their first good season since 2005...HaHa

That is only speculation, just as it is that one of those other schools offered Issaac a car, or Alabama recently offered two females twins to “escort” a potential recruit. Robbie, you are getting a little too hopped up by your carefully worded comments about the (B)ruins great (sic) recruitment. HaHa

To get down to the truth of it, who are the best players in the nation overall, not some B.S. about this (B)ruin is the 4th DB in the country and overhype like that.

The FACT of the matter, USC has 9 players rated in the top 54 spots. UCLA has their FIRST player at number 56.

RIVAL TOP 100 BEST PLAYERS (PERIOD)
#06 DT - KENNY BIGELOW
#07 QB - MAX BROWNE
#10 DB - JALEN RAMSEY
#12 DB - SU-A CRAVENS
#22 DB - LEON MCQUAY
#27 RB - TY ISSAAC
#34 DB - CHRIS HAWKINS
#51 OL - KHALIEL RODGERS
#54 WR - STEVEN MITCHELL
....#56 UCLAs "first" player! HaHa

Furthermore, USC has a total of 11 players that are in the 100 best players in the country to the (B)ruins two... Now that is proper perspective!!!

USC - THE TALENT KEEPS COMING IN TO RESTOCK AND RESURGE
UCLA - LETS HOPE THOSE 4 STAR PLAYRS OVER PERFORM AGAIN

you have to account for injuries, ineligibility, some are also swithed to the DLine, some meet the expecations and some don't. You can never have too many OLInemen.

I remember when RN first took over as coach, people don't remember that he had to convert TEs, to OLinemen and also DLinemen to the OL guys that had walked a year before on were starting, because the OLine was left bare.

People love to criticize RN but I still contend that he literally had to build the program from scratch...QB? the same thing, we had a walk on starting vs. ND and USC in 2007 McCloud Bethel-Thompson. I'm not saying that RN was a great coach, but he walked on to a difficult situation.

Furthermore, the expectations for RN might have been a little too much, thus he was trying to create a system for quick results, hence the hiring of Norm Chow, the problem? we didn't have the horses, and the Pistol Offense - again, no horses. We were asking Prince to do what Coling Kaeppernick is doing! is that ridiculous or what?

Yes, I realize that. But at 4 OL's, that's 27% of our available 15 scholarships.

When we're back to 85, your number would be more realistic.

All of that means NOTHING!!! if you're not addressing the areas in which need to. But you sound like them bloggers on Wolff's Marcos, or trojanFan, clueless....so I'm done trying to make my point. Enjoy your 9 prospects in the top -54. I'm much happier with our #6 class than you are with your #10 according to scout.com ...or #9 on rivals.com to your #7...as soon as Eddie Vanderdoes signs with us, we will jump over you on rivals.com as well, not including Kylie Fitts, he is also gonna sign with us. As a matter of fact, don't be surprised if we finish #3 on rivals and #1 on scout when it's all said and done.

well, the point is when Kalil went down with an injury, your OLine showed how little depth it had...you are stacked at WR yet you signed 2 or 3? your DLine is also running a little thin, so you had 4 DLinemen in the class, until 3 de-committed...you would think they would aggressively pursued other DL to replace them in this class, but instead went after more DBs and WR...and there is talk that Prevot will be switching as well, Falah is rumored to be leaning towards Washington. I would not be surprised ot Orgeron is contemplating a job change - which is why 3 DLinmen have de-committed and Orgeron is planning to take his recruits with him...isn't that how Kiffin and Orgeron hit the floor running at USC? they brought Tennessee's recruits over with them?...just saying.
