Oh GeorgeO, your flabby buddy screwed up again.
In 1999, Westy Covina city's redevelopment agency lent $4.1 million to Hassen Imports Partnership and West Covina Motors.
They were to establish the dealerships, which sold Hummer, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Ford and Mazda vehicles. Didn't Mike Touhey get kick-backs in the form of political donations to his political party?
Which one of his special friends business will be failing next.

Mark Smith... Check the 440s of all candidates. Hassen donated to almost everyone. He assisted Roger Hernandez and gave him are really great deal on an SUV with was worth a lot more then what was paid for it. I think Roger either sold it or traded it in for much more then was given for it. As you know, this became an issue. With deals like this and donations to campaigns, you would feel that there would be a conflict of interest. Back in the day, assisting business to "expand" so as to bring in more revenue was the goal. However, Hassen was "slow" to complete projects with RDA funds. NOTE: the Hummer project for example. One council member wanted to forgive the loan. They are now in Chapter 7 and the city is looking at recovering around $18 million if I have the numbers right. As for kickbacks, the only one that seemed to be and issue was the Hernandez issue. If you can take a look into the "mass" that the DA worked with, you would see some interesting manipulation by Ziad to retain funds. Example, Some years back, Santa Monica Medical had over $2 million in work done to their facility. They failed to pay Hugh Peters and Associates their money for the project. The owner was 78 years old and fronted the money to the doctor(s) for the project. After four years, they paid $0.50 on the dollar and this bankrupted this old man. They doctor(s) actually banked the funding and drew interest for over four years. This was set aside money for the project and never paid. This actually "killed" Hugh Peters as it took a toll on his health. The same with Hassen, it appears that he has hidden money all over the place and over seas and it appears he plays the game to bankrupt cities whereas they simply quite filing to get their money back. The thing here is that Hassen has other property in West Covina, the Tower, Stater Bros. Center to mention a couple. With the Chapter 7 going down, there is an option to lean the other properties. Hassen can simply quick claim the property to his brother or some other interested property and business goes on. West Covina is NOW doing to Hassen as they did with Collins (Chrysler). If I recall, they also go the home at Lake Elsinor as well. Nuff said.

Fat Albert (aka; G0)and Mike Touhey sure know how to pickem.
West Covina rushed into a waste contract with Athens Services, despite the fact that it's own staff said a better deal might be had.
I disagreed with West Covina's rash (trash) decision, and the outgoing mayor's cavalier attitude.
Mike Touhey and Fat Albert (aka; GO) were so upset at me they pledged to scream a lot more at me

Mark Smith. Why do you constantly discriminate against over-weight people??? Over and over again you make comments about them? As for myself, I knock myself and have a little fun with it. I know what I am. I know your underweight and just figured it was your lifestyle and/or health issues.
As for the Athens issue. You have it wrong again. I guess you didn't read my comments. I didn't support a LONG contract at all. I am all for the bidding process. Service, cost and length of contract. You do NOT have to take the cheapest. Athens gives GREAT SERVICE and does a lot for the community. I would guess they would get repeat contracts if they only had short term signatures... You missed it again Mark. As for the better deal... I think it would have been workable.

Glendora, California news:
A steady group of RACISTS writers for the sgvexaminer.com have once again posted their twisted southern racists cramp-ons.
March 7 - 13, 2013 edition, page B2 an B3.
George Ogden, Ken Herman and Ken Eliasberg but another person Steve Herfert couldn't make the newspapers deadline this time but he regularly speaks at the council member for West Covina, California.
All these clowns are GOP, Republican or Tea Party bigots.
