Review: Mission Mountain Resort

While this resort makes for a pretty setting the ownership is lousy. We held our wedding there and honestly could never recommend the place to anyone. The owners constantly meddle in everything. They seem generally unhappy and somehow paranoid something might happen if they're not constantly present.
During the wedding the owners hung around, which was strange to begin with, until they were seen taking food (basically stealing it) from the lodge kitchen back to their home on the property. Several wedding guests saw them do this.
Again, I could never recommend this resort to anyone. There are several fantastic resorts between Seeley Lake, Bigfork and Paradise.

REGARDING 2/25/10 MISSION MOUNTAIN RESORT POST: As Owners of the Resort, we must respond to the "stealing" remark. We sell our menu by the plate and leftovers belong to us. If a private cater serves dinner or families bring in their own food, we store leftovers in our commercial fridges. The "home" is also a licensed establishment. On occasion we clean family wedding food, when the volunteer kitchen help disappears, once the music starts. If Guests thought they saw us steal their food, either situation may explain this belief. We do not need to steal left over food. Our weddings take place over three days. Guests return on the third day for their decor, food, liquor, gifts, flowers, etc. All is available to them at that time. We have hosted a 100+ summer weddings, over 10+ years, and strive to provide an excellent event for all. Kind Regards for your consideration. MMR Proprietors

We held our wedding at the MMR and had an extremely enjoyable experience!
It was excellent on every count. We would do it again, except we are happily married now.
Our Guests would love to repeat the experience too. We highly recommend this site for your wedding. You won't be disappointed.

We held our wedding here in 2008. We had a similar situation to the comment from February 2010. The setting is lovely and the views are terrific. However, the owners leave something to be desired.
We felt as if the owners were constantly meddlng in everything. I recognize that they own the place and don't want anything to be damaged. However, they treated my family and guests as if they were naughty children. They were upset that we rearranged tables so that they were better configured for the reception *we* wanted. They insisted on being the ones to take down some of the tables after dinner for the dancing. I accepted this and said that we only wanted a few tables taken down. We had a number of elderly people at our wedding and those who I knew would not be dancing. However, they then proceded to take down ALL the tables and move the centerpieces onto the bar. When asked to put some back up, they gave my husband some lip and grudgingly did so.
Also, the owners insisted that their insurance requires them to be in the building (apparently in the same room) when events take place. Yeah, that's not a little awkward. A few guests asked me who the people standing behind the bar doing nothing were up to. When I explained that they were the owners of the place, I got a variety of reactions from understanding to confusion.
We did write the owners a letter after the wedding expressing our concerns. We did our best to include constructive criticism. Honestly, a number of the things the owners asked or required of us were reasonable, but the tone and attitude were not. I hope that they took some of our suggestions to heart. If not, I cannot recommend ever using their property
