I've always heard that politics stinks and I'm really beginning to wonder.
For Alabama AG Troy King to sue The Department of Interior over Indian gambling is absolutely ridicuous and a waste of Alabama taxpayers money.
Just as citizens of Alabama, Shorter, Al. Race Tracks owners continue to grow with a huge array of eletronics bingo machines and our AG Troy King does not seems to notice or care.
l. I would like to know why the eletronic bingo machines can be use at Dogs Tracks in Alabama but are illegal at the Indian Reservations?
2. Why is it that Alabama let's one person have so much power and control?
3. Why is it that other people have been denied the same opportunity to build such a place?
4. How is it that poker is being played in many bars, country clubs, home games, etc. in this state everyday and law enforcement does not clean it up?
5. Further more why can't the Indians have tables games on their reservations as it is a safer environment for all to play....or would the Dog Track Onwers get upset about it?
6. Being that poker is being allowed in the State of Alabama at bars, country clubs, home games, etc..... At what level of poker do we know we are safe without being arrested? If it's not being allowed, then why isn't it being cleaned up at these locations?
7. You can find a game on the internet from Huntsville all the way down to Mobile but is that safe finding a game on the Internet?
I would like to learn the answers to all these questions here.
Respectfully, Joyce Coker

We're a gambling state or we're not. Remove ALL gambling or go all the way with tables, lotto AND powerball!

Its illegal, its wrong, and should have never been allowed to progress to its current state. The farther up the casino went so did PCI influence and control on our entire community!

I've recently relocated back to Alabama (after having been away for more than 20 years) and I have to agree, Alabama is full of hypocrites. Gambling is gambling, either you do or you don't. If I didn't miss my family and want my boys to see their grandparents I would not have come back. My grandmother would bet on dogs and horses when I was a kid during the 80's in Birmingham and I thought that was pathetic. I'd rather have a lottery that doesn't involve animals of any sort (aside from man). I now realize why I stayed away for so long. I'm giving myself 3 years top and I'm leaving for good this time.

I suppose some of you who have relocated out of our town and surrounding towns didn't hear about the proposed 5000 acre DUMP that was planned to be located on or about the conecuh and monroe county line. I applaud the Creek Indians for helping stand up to these pro DUMP people. Without some of their funds being in the fight to stop this from happening we'd have the name of the "dump state". What a great way to be known. Also maybe you should take a trip to Sardine Creek now and take a relaxing float down the creek on a tube for about 2.00 or maybe you wanna park your RV on a full hook up, maybe your the fisherman who likes to make a cast with your child in one of I think 13 lakes, or possibly have a family reunion where there's games and other activities set up. Ya someone should stop the Creek Indians immediately for providing a safe place to enjoy time with our families in the outdoors where there is NO alcohol or fighting like you see at the creeks that were so popular when we were kids. I THANK YOU CREEK ENTERPRISE FOR MAKING ALL THIS POSSIBLE AND FOR YOU HAND IN FIGHTING THE DUMP. I HOPE YOU MAKE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN AND HOPE YOU GET THE TABLE GAMES THAT WOULD MAKE YOUR CASINO COMPETITIVE WITH THE OTHERS IN MS. Maybe people here will spend there money in our state and hopefully spend it with Creek Enterprise.

We moved away from Atmore because there is no opportunity to grow and better yourself there. I moved to Texas and now have a six figure job, a 3000 square foot brick home, two successful businesses, and a better school system for my children. My wife is a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians and I personally feel as part of thier tribe and have been treated as such. What they are doing for the dying community of Atmore is breathing the life breath of prosperity and growth into a town that has been controlled by a few ancient and greedy individuals that would starve the life blood from Atmore just to turn another dollar and remain in power. If we ever move back to the area it will be because of a revival of growth, prosperity, and a restructuring has occured in Atmore. Additionally, I will know that there is a future for my children and my children's children and I will owe it to the people of this land that had the fortitude and presence of mind to revive it. And if you believe gambling is wrong and a sin. Look at your Bible again even the disciples cast lots (a form of gambling). Look it up. Moderation in all things is the key. The sin would come if you spend your rent money at the casino. It is just a form of entertainment if used properly by a level headed and emotionally stable adult.
Thank you and best wishes.
