Negro Head Creek does have a bridge on Olive Branch Rd. I live right around there and play in the creek often with my family. Neighbors have said that the incident happened in the creek behind our house. Don't know, wasn't there.

I graduated from forest Hills in 1966. This happened in my junior year which would have been the winter of 1965. I had been dating a girl from Polkton for a couple of months. We had been getting a little more friendly with every date. One night I picked her up and we went to Hilltop which was curb service back then for hamburgers and milk shakes. Then we rode around Monroe for a while. Most cars back then had big bench seats in the front, not bucket seats. She would slide over next to me and put her hand on my thigh. I would get so excited that I worried that my zipper might bust. We it was time to park for sure! I didn't know any places in Monroe back then. I rode down 74 and pulled off on the road where the jail in now. It was a little old narrow paved road. There was a bridge where you could see both ways if somebody was coming. We went at it hot and heavy and clothes was coming off. She was as hot as I was so it was BLAZING hot. We got to rocking that old Oldsmobile and all of a sudden she yelled "There's somebody out there". I jumped up and I saw a ghostly pale face kin of like a witch and a arm raised up like it was going to hit somebody. I jumped over the seat and cranked that car and took off naked from the waist down going down 74 and her in the back trying to get dressed. When we got to Marshville I pulled off in Henry Gaye's parking lot and we both got to laughing. She climbed over the seat and brought me my pants and underwear. We were laughing so hard we never did what we both wanted to do. We only dated one more time after that. Her daddy got a job in Raeford, NC and they moved. We wrote each other letters but we never got back together

There are two bridges on 205 between Marshville and New Salem. The first bridge is over Jacks Branch and the second is over Richardson Creek. Negro Head Creek aka.....Salem Creek doesn't have a bridge and it crosses 205 at the old Rendering Plant right past the Marshville Cemetery.
Old thread, I know, But if you turn right onto Olive Branch Rd at Fairfield Baptist Church and head towards 218 you will cross a bridge right after all of the curves. That bridge crosses Negro Head creek or Salem Creek, whatever you want to call it

The bridge is not on Highway 205. The bridge is on Negro Head Creek between Fairfield and Olive Branch on the Monroe Olive Branch Road. Going East from Fairfield the creek is between Fairfield and the intersection of Holly School Road. I understand the spot is upstream from the bridge. I do not know the exact location.

I am totally confused
Go Highway 205 North to Fairfield. Turn right onto Monroe Olive Branch Road. Go approx. 1 mile to first bridge at bottom of hill. The spot is upstream from the bridge.
To get to the site of the old road continue on Monroe Olive Branch Road and take the first right at the top of the hill. Go about a quarter mile. The old road is on the right and is grown up now with saplings. The old road continued West and crossed the creek. I understand that the event took place at that road's crossing.

a Friend even took a very clear picture (with his camera) of one of the "Ghosts" in my home...
... why do you want a "Ghost" ...???
could summon one up for you very "cheaply (need a few materials)... But... it would cost Much more to have it "removed"....
do not care if you "believe" me or Not...(your loss)...
and for the rest of you... always carry your cross and say your prayers nightly.... just to be "safe"...... My health has gone down rather badly... so "Ghosts" , and Spirits" we no longer "mess" with..
A pleasant Sunday to all of you good folks....

Found this post to be interesting. In checking with family, their relatives lived on Lucy Short Cut Rd and said that a black man was killed down below their house on this creek which was then given that name. Location: turn off 205 N onto Lucy Short Cut Rd, go to the first bridge/creek and that is the part of the creek where the incident happened a long time ago. Family I spoke with said they use to hear their grandparents and neighbors say this is where it happened. No exact spot can be remembered but just that the incident was at this location. Hope this helps someone. Will be interested in reading more posts.
I happen to live down by Lucy short cut road and I have a family member that owns land on negro head creek and on the part of land he owns if you go down about 200 yards from the creek you can here the ghost of the black man that had his head cut off very creepy
