Some great ideas coming in.. Maybe the Small town group needs this list.
Lets get the kids involved. Spring clean up day. Scouts to help elderly. Maybe college students could come to help both towns. Maybe a bakery could be opened. Maybe after school tutor session at the old library.

The signage problem could be worked out with a controlled business board on 74. Maybe the chamber needs to do something. Bring all signs at beginning on both ends of Main. Use the space they own to erect the signs.

We have a lot more to offer if we just let passing people know we are open for business. Small flags at intersections could be used to attract attention. Show we are proud to be US citizens. Town of Marshville flags on poles.

Keep the ideas coming.

Good ideas there Pookie, only you need a leader for all these things, and aint no one doing nothing for free in this town. Perhaps get the town involved to take the lead and that be in someones job duties. If the town took this on then it would need to go balls to the walls all ahead full, and without any restrictions for that position. The town would need to allow that person to pick it up and run with it, not micro managed. What has held this town back is a town manager for the past few years. They all want to have the final say in anything and everything. Just look what happened in the past 20 months with the dictator in charge, NOTHING! Until the town changes its mindset and really wants to give something back to the citizens I just cant see anything happening. But your ideas are realistic.

Food always attracts people. I would like to see a few more good places to eat that stayed open after the lunch hour. Places to go for dinner, or what I call "Supper". Marshville rolls up the sidewalks at 5pm. Most people work until then. Maybe they should stay open later. Not sure what the answer is but I do agree....something needs to change.
