Though we'll withhold judgment until all the facts come out (because, obviously, police thugs lie), if Mr. Christopher John Monfort - of Tukwila, WA - is the person who killed Seattle cop Timothy Brenton on Halloween night, to use the words of Operation Nation contributor Heidi Peterson, "this is an upstanding citizen. I guess he just gave up on the justice system and took matters into his own hands." I couldn't agree more.
The Seattle Times has identified Mr. Monfort as the "suspect" who killed Brenton. Mr. Monfort, 41, was shot in the head at his apartment by Seattle cops yesterday, after they said he "pulled a gun on detectives" when they allegedly approached him for questioning. Mr. Monfort survived, however is in serious condition. What apparently led Seattle cops to Mr. Monfort was his patriotism: he left American flags at the scene where he allegedly torched four police cars on October 22, and at the scene of Brenton's demise a week later. Mr. Monfort also left fliers at the alleged car torching scene about King County thug cop Paul Schene senselessly assaulting 15-year-old Malika Calhoun earlier this year. That was my first thought when Officer Brenton was shot, that this was retaliation for the Schene incident.
The blogs were running hot and heavy over that one. Some people even posted Schene's home address on the web. A friend of mine in Seattle had her car stolen. After it was found, she could not get the responding officer to take a report. The officer seemed upset that someone had called him to report the car. She asked him: "So you won't take a report, but if I get in and don't put my seatbelt on, you'll ticket me?" "Absolutely," he said. The duty of police is to serve the community. When they become heavy handed fine collectors, they lose respect. I'm not justifying what happened, but I predict it will happen more and more often as the political class attempts to use its mandate to rule rather than represent. Schene was given paid leave for his beatdown. Now that really inspires confidence. |

Interesting...according to the operation-nation blog, there is a racial element too. Both Monfort and Malika Calhoun were black, Schene and Brenton were white. Interesting.

Jesus. You whack-job, aluminium-hat wearing freaks don't have any of this story straight.
While I'm not a fan of LEO when they abuse their powers, I'm not an enemy neither. That being said, here are the facts: it was Monforts APARTMENT MANAGER who tipped the cops, telling them that his car matched the description (off the dash cam of the officer's car, who was killed - Datsun B-210) and that Monfort covered it the following day after the shooting and had never done that before. The detectives sat on the car and when Monfort came out, they identified themselves as they walked and Monfort, according to several eye-witnesses, pulled a gun and pulled the trigger, point blank, at one detective's face, but the gun wasn't cocked, nor was there a round in the chamber. Monfort turned and ran, turning at the top of his stairs and again pointed the gun at detectives, at which time both detectives returned fire, hitting Monfort one in the stomach and once in the cheek. At last check, Monfort was recovering and in stable condition. Several guns as well as homemade bombs in Monfort's apartment and has told detectives that he planned on killing as many more LEO as well as SFD personnel as he could. You people really need to get a life and finally make that move out of Mommy's basement and speaking of which, next time be sure to get her permission before using the big person's computer, OK? |

"Malika Calhoun was black." That would be a surprise to Ms. Calhoun, who is not black, nor was she at the time of the incident.

Even if this guy isn't the right guy the cops did us all a favor by taking him out. Any person making bombs, using assult rifles and destroying cop cars can't be good for the society. We have no use for people like that.

AMEN to this comment!!! "The duty of police is to serve the community. When they become heavy handed fine collectors, they lose respect. You said it loud and clear in your friends description of these pathetic excuses of law officers! I know of SO MANY similar circumstances and double standard crap. They think they're above the law and hide behind the badge and look out for one another with no justice to the public. I have never been in trouble nor do I have a criminal record, but I'll tell you, the things you see, hear about and experience in connection with law officers really make a good mind think criminal. |
