Wow..went to watch the Wahama Buffalo game and I have to say Wahama would have been beat if the refs. had rules fair. At start of game a Falcon player tackled a Bison and refs. blew whistle on the play, due to the play over, and the Falcon player just kept on the Bison player. The refs was tending to the ball and didn't see what the Falcon player was doing. He actually wouldn't let the Bison player up, so the Bison player has smacked the top of the helmet cpl time just to basically say okay enough get off. The Bison team got a personal foul and then the player who smacked the back of helmet got ejected. Of course the refs turn around when the second guy is doing something. Then another play # 15 from Wahama tackled a Bison receiver I guess, he caught the ball and once again the Wahama team did a intentional helmet to helmet hit on the Bison Boy. He walked off the field after about ten minutes and then when he reached the sideline he passed out from the hit. The refs gave # 15 a personal foul but did not eject him! After #15 for Falcons came off the field he was gloating, the whole team was actually, about how he hit that boy and took him out. Wow, is this what we teach our children now days. If I had a child that intentionally did a illegal hit like that, I would strip them off the team. They got a personal foul and thats it. The refs. also tried to give Wahama a TD score early.....seriously they called a TD at the five yd line. Where the crap does these refs come from. I have no children so I have no affiliation with either team. I just simply stating what I saw. The NFL fines thousands of dollars for helmet to helmet hits. What if this boy ends up in a cpl days of dying from a slow bleed,#15 would you be proud then and gloat and brag. When this Bison player was down on the field the players of Wahama was running around on the field body bumping and giving hi fives. The coaches and the fans was cheering for this kid. What is a Bison player done that, then would you be proud. The parents of this child need to seriously have him evaluated for the potential to become a killer. No remorse what so ever of how he hurt this player. Then I noticed a drunk Wahama fan try to start a fight with a solider wearing his BTU's just cause he came from duty. Wanted to fight him for serving his country so his dumb redneck azz can go drunk to ball games. That Wahama fan got escorted off the field. Like I said don't know either team was just out killing time on a Friday night, I am old and get lonely. I sure hope that player is okay and just know karma comes around!

Are you serious? Come on here crying because you got your asses kicked. I seem the game and I agree there was some bad officiating on both sides. Just don't come here crying because your babies got the hell kicked out of them. This is football their going to get hit and hit hard at times. If you don't want them hit then maybe have them play girls volley ball or something. The personal foul was because of the little Temper tamper the Bison coach was throwing on the side lines and the kid was ejected for throwing his helmet. I suggest that if u Bison kids are going to whine n pout every damn time you lose or get hurt that u join some type of flag football group. But for now I hope you baby bisons mature before we meet again and we hand your asses to you again. Take care children.

The drunk Wahama fans was crazy! One wanted to fight a guy in military cuz he was in military! Really! This man has faught for ur freedom so ur drunk azz can attend a high school game drunk! Seriously 15 should been ejected for that hit! Had nothing to do with being weak or anything! Was a helmet tO helmet., done on purpose! Could have killed that child and 15 thinks it was something to gloat abt! If my kids ever done something like that i would strip them off the team! I will pray for u Falcons! there were bad calls on both teams but the most shocking aspect of the game was the way the "adults" showed themselves on both sides everyone forgets it's a GAME let the kids have fun without the bs!!!!!

What dis the Bison do besides take up for their kids! Do u all understand the effect of helmet to helmet hits! You can kill someone! Buffalo had player ejected for smacking a helmet cause a Falcon was driving him in ground after whistle blew and Falcon was twisting the knee of this kid who elected to play instead of surgery! When he takes up for himself he gets ejected! When the Falcons due a helmet to helmet so hard and intentional it knocks the kid out they should have been ejected and then to gloat about it, what if a Bison done that to a Falcon!? It is a game and they r kids, exactly why intentionally try to hurt a kid or do something that had killed ppl! I wish no harm on any kids! Both teams have great players! My son has played for 8 yrs and je would never try to hurt anyone! Not gonna argue with anyone! What happened last night was sad! Yes Wahama won but Buffalo pushed and would have beat you! 13 penalties for 119 yrds! Really! Playoffs Wahama will have to play real teams with real refs! Not home favorites and def. no home cookin!

Ha you need to!!! Wow teach your children to hurt other children and then be proud of it! I love a good game that is intense and action packed! I would never allow my son to gloat and be proud of intentionally hurting someone! That was my only complaint! Wahama has lot of talent and the Bison actually gave them a run for their money! You just don't hurt children!

Why is this discussion even on the Point forum?

Anyway,I was not at the game between Wahama and Buffalo but I do know that sometimes helmet to helmet hits can not be prevented. Sometimes they can. If the player in question did indeed lead with his helmet intentionally then that is on the player. I can remember before each football season started that there was a video on spearing or leading with the helmet. It is something football has been trying to fix yet we still see it in all levels. The game is too fast especially on plays in the secondary. Football is played with instincts. Sometimes you don't realize what you do until after its done. High School kids will get emotional. I have never appreciated a fan base that will cheer when a player gets knocked out of a game. Some teams wont even take knees anymore for a hurt player. That reflects the coaching staff.

This rivalry is like this every single year. I'm a Point graduate and know people from both fan bases. Each year both teams will say that the home team will win because of refs. Wahama has had Buffalo's number last few years and those young men have something to be proud of. I know Wahama gets bashed because of their schedule and so does Point but they have to play the schedule that the AD makes for them. Not the kids fault.

It's not looking too good for Point as they travel to face Morgantown next week and Wahama may just have Williamstown. We know that Wahama owes them a couple. Wish Point, Wahama, and Buffalo the best this week.

Point and Wahama should not play in football. Point is AAA and Wahama is A. I really don't believe that the players from each team really care whether they play or not. It is mostly fans of the teams that want to see it happen. Would it be good money for both schools? Sure, but what else benefits the two schools? Bragging rights? If one of the teams would lose a couple key players to injury then both fan bases would be upset. Let Point represent Mason County in AAA and Wahama and Hannan in A. Its playoff time. Each fan base should support the other.

Okay this is crazy....I graduated from Point Pleasant but do not live in Point anymore. I was at the game last night due to two boys on the team. I have always been a fan of Mason county football cause it is my hometown. But not know. Wahama is very talented and have lots of potential, especially #34! Don't wanna state his name due to being a minor and this is topix. The boy is good. Buffalo held their own and Wahama did not dominate till the refs stepped in. Our player was ejected for smacking the back of a helmet of a falcon player who was on top of him and wouldn't let up...The refs was paying attn to the ball and the other players. The Falcon player was still driving the Bison into the ground so our player smacked the back of his helmet, with a open hand. Of course the refs always catch the second player. Our player got a personal foul and was ejected. Now when the Bison receiver caught the ball the #15 did a helmet to helmet intentional. There was no doubt that it was on purpose and it all is on film. The Bison player layed on the field for about 10 minutes. What is sad, the Bison trainers was on the field and the Wahama players was still on the field running around and celebrating. They was running and chest hitting each other and giving each other high fives. Luckily a Dr on the sideline was there. Of course Buffalo was yelling for a personal and ejection. After about five minutes the Falcons ran off the field and finally got on one knee. The Bison player made it to the sideline and passed out. The #15 got a personal and when he reached the sideline, which was lined up at that time in the visitor section, he was still gloating. He grabbed his junk and was humping the air at the Bison fans, and trying to get the Wahama fans cheer louder. He never did take a knee for our player who had to go to the er, cause with passing out it is a concussion. He continued on the sideline to gloat and taunt which should have been a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct. That was so sad and speaks loudly about the coaches and parents. Like I said they are a good team, but Buffalo led up till halftime. The very first play the Bison running back ran out of bounds on the Bison side and the falcons continued to shove him up the sideline and knock the ball out of his hands even though he was out of bounds and the refs called a fumble. They were clearly out of bounds. When the players on the sidelines step back and move out of the way you are out of bounds. There was Wahama fans standing on the Bison side taunting our coaches and yelling and cussing. My nephew walked over to the Bison side to check on our player and had a Buffalo furry hat on and was called numerous names just for walking over to check our player. I don't think fans or parents should be allowed that close to the opposing team and taunt the coaches! They were trying to get our coach fired up to get us a penalty. I love football and I love my kids. The Bison has yrs experience. What was really bad and looked like the refs were already in favor of Wahama is seriously calling a TD on the five yd line. What does that say about how the refs wanted Wahama to win. If the refs don't know the orange cones mark the goal zone then maybe they should go back to training. At one point I watched a ref try to call the penalty and seriously pointed to the wrong team. How the hell does one team rack up 13 penalties for 119 yards? That is not even possible. If Buffalo was the bad in playing then h ow come all season has had hardly no flags on them. The first play of the game was favored for Wahama. The Bison had the ball and ran out of bounds and the Falcons got kept pushing him out of bounds and back up the field and knocked the ball out of his hands while out of bounds and retrieved by a Falcon and the refs called it a fumble recovery and gave to the Falcons. On another play the Bison QB threw the ball to the RB and the RB dropped it and picked it back up and ran...whistle and ruled incomplete!

I too was at the wahama/buffalo game yesterday as a retired ref i would like to weigh in on some of these misinformed comments abotu the game.. 1. when you have a coach who is consistanly complaining questioning every call this only insites poor behavior by all fans and players alike, i could not believe the referee lets this go on as long aas it did. 2. The ejection was valid and maybe tru that the incident was insited by a wahama player 90% of the time its alwyas the second palyer that gets caught believe me there are so many things going on on the field the refs cant possibly see everything.... 3. The helmut to helmut hit was called correctly there are no provisions in the NFHS rules for ejection for this action. 4. True the ref on the win that called the TD on the 5 was incorrect evidently he lost his position on the field and i can see how this would happen considering all the crap they had to put up woth from the buffalo coach and fans and tryin tokeep the game in control... 5th AND MOST IMPORTANT FANS AND COACHES ALIKE NEED TO REMMEBR ITS A GAME ITS NOT A LIFE AND DEATH FIGHT.... If you thinks its so easy to referee a HS football game quit complaining on forums liek this and get out there a do it learn the rules maybe you can be the perfect referee whom never misses a call and see everything that happens during a game

First of all Buffalo's coach was not acting the way you are saying. The head coach never says anything at all. He don't even include himself in huddles...he is very quiet. There was Wahama fans over there cussing and carrying on and taunting our coach and mostly they were doing this in front of the kids on the line. One of our coaches is a Putnam cop, so therefore he wasn't acting like that either. I didn't say the ejection wasn't valid..it was but he was only defending himself and I clearly stated it is always the second player caught. The helmet to helmet WAS NOT CALLED CORRECTLY!!!!!!!! How is it called correctly when it was intentional??????? I know the refs can't be everywhere, but you can't tell me that all 5 or 6 of them didn't see the celebrating and gloating that was happening. As matter fact when the #15 came off the field and was grabbing his nuts and air humping and celebrating and taunting the crowd and the Falcon coach was giving his player a high five...a ref. was standing right there beside him. Didn't call nothing. If Buffalo had celebrated a hit like that then they would have had a penalty called on them. As a ref. you know this is uncalled for and should have better consequences then what happened. That player should have been ejected. Immediately after the hit while the Bison trainers was on the field, they were still celebrating. The Falcon coach was in the middle of it...he should have been making them get off the field and on one knee. Did that happen..NO They let the boy grab his nuts and air hump and taunt the crowd till the next play. How the hell does a ref lose his position on the field. He couldn't even point to the right team when issuing a penalty. The fans trying to keep the game in control...SORRY THAT WE CARE WHETHER A CHILD DIES ON YOUR FRIGGIN FIELD.! Your pathetic. I love football as much as the next person and I am from Point and have always supported Mason County schools.

Wow! I could write a book! First, how does anyone know that a helmet to helmet hit was intentional? If you saw the play in slow motion, it might not have even been an actual helmet to helmet. Just because someone gets hurt, doesn't mean that it was a penalty. Football is a game in which people hit each other, sometimes on a dead run. Injuries happen. It's a part of the game. I talked to a few people there and I heard a completely different story about the ejection. They told me the Buffalo player was swinging at the Wahama player. I have no doubt that the coach from Buffalo was acting like an ass -- he has been one his entire coaching career. This game is an emotional one and there is a lot of bad blood between the schools. Every game someone says they got "cheated". I am not from either school, so I don't really have a dog in this fight.
