If I had training and a finger print detection handgun, locked up in a small safe, and the safe locked in my desk..only used to protect against loss of life...would it be allowed? Can we depend on law enforcement to get there quickly to prevent a massacre? Do we have the funds to instal security guards? The time is now friends! Let us prey we never have to find out!

I think there should be a rotating shift type of thing in the schools for responsible adults ( background checked of course) that can get a CWP and patrol the grounds and halls of the schools. Have 2 to a school with walkie-talkies to communicate with each other. Also have those same people trained in mock situations.

all these shootings are going to be used to disarm good people who need a firearm to protect their self. a dictator first disarms the people so his forces only have guns then they can control by fear.

I'm ex-law enforcement, have my CWP and would be willing to volunteer a couple days a month for the cause. I'm assuming since the high schools have SRO's this would only apply to the elementary schools.

everybody needs to home school their kids for safety and to keep them from the brain washing they receive at public schools.

Yes. If I knew you, I would probably trust you to do that in light of current situations in our schools.

I disagree. I too have felt that way at times, but the reality is you can't shelter them from the real world forever, no matter how bad it's getting. While home schooling does provide them with more one on one teaching, which I'm quite sure I could never be very good at, you also have to think about how your child developes interacting with children his or her own age. The down side of home schooling is that you are denying your child the chance to play the sports, be in the band, choir, plays, field trips, daily recess where they make lifetime friendships. It isolates them. You can argue that they do play a sport or whatever, but it is not that daily commradary that children develope. Idk what the answer is to this problem, but I don't believe it is home schooling. What about parents that have to work & can't?????

I think if you would read you medication insert you would see the side effects they were talking about, we as adults might be better at handling our emotions than a kid who is on it. Merry Christmas

Not sure who X'd ya...either they don't read much or they are part of the problem. You have hit the nail upon the head. Question is why are so many people prescribed antidepressants these days? How come so many of us are being diagnosed with depression? Many very young children are doped from the time they start school and all through. These are legitimate concerns and could very well be where some of our troubles are rooted.

i agree with you question!!!!!!
kids on ridalin and other drugs just for being a little hyper i totally disagree on that!!!
i think the parents and teachers should not let this happen i mean what the hell i know a mother that has a 6 year old on ridalin i told her she needs her head cracked open well needless to say she got busted selling the kids medicine and i am happy to say the boy is 8 years old with his dad and doing great.
the prestera center needs to be shut down they are not doctors i think they get kic k backs on writing prescriptions .
everybody should quit bitching about the problem and start calling the police on the bums that sell or make dope or grow dope start being examples instead of being victims !!!!

I'm not so sure it's completely about money either. Most places, a child starts school, they are given a "test". If the child doesn't respond within they're acceptable guidelines, some are diagnosed as having ADD, or worse. Which in turn...they are recommended for "counseling". Look at the stats on this. It's alarming my friend. The adults that have been diagnosed with disorders, is even more so that way. I remember a few years back...they were finding unusual amounts of Zoloft in public water systems...whatever happened or become of this? Just curious.
