I agree, He is not. Most people are even afraid to say Merry "Christmas". It has to be "Happy Holidays". I still know the reason. Who knows just when He was born, and it really does not matter. I will celebrate his birth, every day, not just Christmas day. I love you Jesus!!! Merry Christmas!!!

Jesus NEVER was the reason for the season. All scholars agree that he was born in late spring (when all Jews went to home place for tax and census purposes) and that the origin of when we celebrate modern Christmas is that it coincided well with certain pagan holidays as well as winter solstice.

Jesus, will always b the reason for the season. It's sad how ppl r turning away from the true meaning of Christmas . I see less and less Christmas lights every year . Very few ppl even put up a tree anymore . It doesn't really matter when Jesus was born, dec 25 is when we r suppose to celebrate it.

I guess it depends on who you talk to. I say "Merry Christmas" to strangers. I'm not going to take offense if somebody wishes me a happy Hanukkah. It's not a big deal. One of the great things about the season is that a lot of religious groups are celebrating SOMETHING, so whether you're Christian or Jewish or Wiccan, you have something to be happy about. It's a great time of year, and you can celebrate it any way you want to. If your neighbors don't want to call it a Christian holiday and prefer their "Happy Holiday" greeting, so what? There are no rules for HOW you observe Christmas/Hanukkah/Yule. Just don't be a sourpuss about it.

Actually, the Bible gives 2 rough dates (dependinng on which gospel you read). They are about 10 years apart. Matt states he was born while Herod the great was alive (he died in 4BCE) while Luke states he was born while Quirinius was governor of Judea and conducted a census. That census is important because we know from the historian Josephus that it happened in 6 CE. That puts roughly 10 years between the 2 accounts. A Point that I hammered home on the "Fake Christians" post.

You all seem to be missing the actual pagan origins of the holiday itself. The traditions are pagan as well. Read about saturnalia, Yule, and other solstice celebrations. Then, tell me how Jesus is the reason
