Im almost sober. It's doable. First step and hardest step, making yourself get clean. I'm gonna miss my daily buzz, but I'll feel better and be a lot richer!
Wish they'd come out with a drug that made you feel good that was healthy and not addictive. I have a few ideas. Time for a positive buzz on life. No more negativity on myself. I've had my fun. Just hate the withdrawal. Any comments are welcome. Good or bad.
Just so ya know I've never stole or bought off dealers. Always been prescribed just took advantage of what they were prescribed for. It happens. Wish they wouldn't prescribe this crap! Too many friends washed up because of pills. Almost completed hell week. 72 hrs in. 12 more to go.

My demon is alcohol.
Every day I say I'll quit.
You can do it. And so can I.

If you think it's all going to be over in twelve hours you are in for a rude awakening. Especially if you are hooked on opiates. Withdrawal may start getting easier but you have months and possibly years of cravings to deal with then a lifetime of maintaining sobriety. Good luck

I agree with this statement. After the detox there is other withdraws that can happen up to 18 months afterwards. I am proud of you. I am also in recovery, but I am also on suboxone and it helps me. I had cravings so bad that I could not fight off. The detox is the first step. Afterwards addicts need therapy to change the addictive thinking. Prestera offers free counseling. I to got hooked from a dr. that was treating a injury. I did not steal lie or cheat to feed my habit. I wish i could talk to you in person to help you. If you didn't do this to yourself then maybe it will fall into place for you. I would suggest some therapy to deal with all the emotions. A addict uses drugs to feel numb, when you get sober all the emotions come back full force. Pray, and let God help you. The power behind you is greater than the problem in front of you. People are so quick to think that once a addict is detoxed they are fine. That is not true. Addicts act on impulse! Addicts like instant gratification. Addcits want what they want when they want it. If your dr. got you addicted then go back to him, by law they are to wean you off opiates. I was a addict for 5 years. I was sober for 25 yrs before I got hurt. Even after 5 yrs of addiction, my whole thinking process got turned upside down. Being on the suboxone is like trading one drug for another. The suboxone is used to fight off cravings and allows addicts to get intense therapy. With all this combined it gives a addict a better chance of sobriety and less chance of relapse. All of us are here if you need us. Please keep us updated. I am really wanting to help you. It does boil down to mentality. I know heorin users that used needles for years and just woke up one day and said I am done. It can happen. Most people are not strong enough to do that. But I praise you for trying.

There are people to talk to at the old church in Henderson. Everything there is free. If you need to talk, go have a cup of coffee and vent. Proud of you, stick with it!!! I will pray for your success!!

Congrats! This is awesome! However I disagree with suboxin it is not the answer. It is just an excuse! Basically a prescribed addiction! Stay strong! My thoughts and prayers are with you! Best of luck!

Drugs or alcohol; evil. Keep up the fight and never give up. One bad day does not a life make. Be strong, I don't know you, but God does. I will pray for you always. My evil; alcohol and its legal like scripts but it messes up lives and dreams just the same. The first step; understand you are awesome in recognizing your issue. 2) addicts can make mistakes and 3) people who love you will love you in truth. Most importantly, wake up every day trying to be better than the day before. When u beat it; pass it forward:).
