I rarely stoop so low as to post on this site. Matter of fact I usually find humor in most of the Hogg wash garbage posted here. However, I seen this post and had to reply. People sit on here and degrade the fire dept for this and that. I just wonder if you were trapped in an auto accident yourself or stuck in a burning house what you would be thinking? Would you still think your fire dept is hideous or would you be thanking God above these men will be there in a moments notice to save your life? They risk their lives everytime the tones go off for a car wreck, house fire or whatever the call may be! They don't get paid, it's strictly volunteer. They put their lives in danger to save total strangers.....they give up valuable family time to run calls. The firefighters in this town sacrifice more than most people will ever know but still yet they are talked about and degraded! I myself just want to say Thank You to all of them and I appreciate everything you guys do!!! To some you may be nothing.........but to a lot of us citizens you are truly HEROS!!!!!

I'm so with you on this, ticks me off when people runs their mouth about our volunteers. These men and women are at our beck and call anytime day or night, wether it's a house or building fire, or a car on fire with someone trapped, how many times have they put their life on the line to pull someone out of a fire or even the river knowing that the person they are after is all ready dead. Try asking them what they need to make their jobs easier, or what you could do to help them raise money for things they need to make the fire department more efficient and productive..
thanks

Bite your tounge do not put our volunteer fire dept down they devote there time heart and brain to do this job. They save lifes. They don't run there mouths on a trash website. My husband bestfriend and other free friends are on this department and others in surrounding towns. If it was your house on fire you or a family member in a car accident or if you just needed help who is first to come. You need to get your big headed self out of the gutter they see terrible things they see famlies lose everything they have from a home or telling another loved one things they don't want to hear. I would love to see you do what our fire dept does. You wanna run your mouth look in the mirrior

Sir where did you get yours? ISO ratings are based on water supply, equipment, manpower, and reponse times. Insurance companies use ISO ratings when they determine fire insurance for homes and businesses. My information comes from a $600/yr increase for fire insurance. Not once did I say anything negative about you or any other person that "volunteers" in this noble profession. Maybe you should direct your anger at where your tax dollars are being spent. I personally whould like to see more of my money spent on things that benefit me and the community as a whole.(fire and police protection) Instead of giving money to people who just put it into a gambling cafe,($3,300,000 last month alone) maybe some of those tax dollars could pay for equipment that help you improve your ISO rating. People keep saying this county needs jobs, well businesses look at fire insurance rates prior to setting up shop in any community.

If your insurance is that high you must live out in the sticks because it is a class 5. I am sure unless you live to far away from the fire department.

Saw a firefighter on a call the other day and appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. If this is the case, then that's pathetic and I do not feel safe at all! Are these people drug tested each month? We all get drug tested at our jobs so they should as well right?

First of all you are crazy!!! Second name the date, time, and location of the call or better yet tell one of the officers on the department. I am sure you won't because your just trying to stir the pot as much as you can. I hear they are accepting applications so if you disagree with things join and change it.

Why don't they just drug test all of them and then we will see if they are liars? Fair enough if you ask me.
