How about something positive about Point Pleasant?

Name some businesses in the area that you feel have great customer service and why.

I think that Smoker Friendly by Foodland and Smoke Shack by Fetty's Gun & Pawn have had good customer service. They've always got the drive through orders right, been prompt and given correct change. Other than a few instances when they've had to deal with trashy, loud, customers, they've always seemed friendly to me.

Another place is NAPA. Those folks will really help out on finding parts - they'll roam the aisles rather than point towards some corner of the store. Quality and selection of their products seems good, albeit more expensive. Special orders don't take very long at all. Customer returns aren't a huge problem either.

I'm sure there are more out there.

I can see the beginnings of a great thread here... I sure hope anyone that wishes to complain about a business start their own thread... If they do decide to post complaints I for one intend to ignore it and keep on readin' the good stuff... :)

I have always got good service at NAPA and Advance both... Price Bros garage is very good, Sider's Jewelers have always been extremely friendly and accommodating, Willa's Bible Book Store, Thomas' Do-It Center have always been very helpful...

I'm sure I'll come up with plenty more in time...

The vet techs at Dr. Shockey's office? They're always nice and helpful when I have a question or bring my cat in for whatever reason.

I couldn't agree more!!! Truly caring, compassionate and understanding folks Doc has holdin' down the fort for him in both his Point Pleasant and Ripley offices... And don't let Doc fool ya either... Sure he comes off as an old horse and cow farm vet and from I understand he is and a darn good one too... He shows the same compassion and honest caring for our critters... It's never made one iota of difference if it was my $450 Weim or the homeless cat that lay freezing, way underfeed and unwanted that my wife rescued from our < 10 degree patio late one December night... They all get the same high level of care...

Oh and BTW... For my first fifty years I never cared for cats and didn't want them anywhere around me... The one my wife took in changed all that... She was put in a crate that first night with a soft blanket, food and water... I finally agreed to letting her stay if I could name her... Based on the condition my wife told me she was in when brought into our home I named her "Shivers"... This was after a week's worth of my wife putting her out when she went to work and my finding her each afternoon on my return from work waiting to be let back in the house... Unbeknown to my wife and myself Shivers was at that time in the very earliest stages of becoming a mama... She along with my wife serving as midwife were up all night and only managed to deliver one kitten (rank amateurs, both of 'em)... At 8am we were on the way to Shockey's Ripley office... Mama and kitten in toe... After a shot to re-induce labor she delivered a second kitten and then stopped again... It was by then obvious Shivers would have died had she been left on her own to deliver her litter... A C-section delivery was required to deliver the remaining four, one of which was stillborn... I allowed the sympathy I was beginning to feel for her relax my guard and before I knew it she and her brood had one me over... We soon became fast friends even to the extreme of keeping the lone little female runt of the five siblings... A gray calicoat (sp) my wife named Mouse...

So sorry but except for witnessing about my salvation the next best thing I like to talk 'bout is my critters...:)

There are so many wonderful businesses in Point. Four Seasons Florist on Main Street is amazing. They are always helpful during a time of loss and their prices are very good! Also, Emma's has great food and a wonderful "mom and pop" environment. The employees are accommodating and friendly.

Well, I have been out of state for years now, but enjoy coming to Point Pleasant to get my fix. It consists of 2 footlong hotdogs from Dairy Queen only. The very best. Of course there has to be a banana split on the order too. Not to worry about all those calories though, I top it off with a cold diet pop. LOL. The girls at the Dairy Queen are the tops, they always smile and think it's pretty funny that I travel all that way, but do not miss coming there for my order.
Then there is visiting my cousin Henry Fetty and the gang at Fetty's Barber shop. Usually run into several friends and sometimes family there. Even if it's crowded, I will stay and wait my turn just to be able to see some folks I don't get to see that often.
Maybe should not be considered a business, but when I visit on Wednesday or Sunday, I like to either go to the Nazarene or the Church of Christ in Christian Union church service as well. I am always greeted with a smile and share a song with them when I have a disc or tape. Good bunch of people.

I agree! I walked in to get flowers delivered. I had no idea of what to get, what was available or price. The girls at 4 Seasons not only gave some great suggestions, but they were able to get the flowers delivered on time and at a reasonable cost. Customer service was great and the arrangement beautiful.

Dr. Harold Ayers! Extremely intelligent and compassionate Dr. Always takes time to listen to what ails you. If it is something that is beyond his capabilities, he's not afraid to tell you, and recommend someone to refer you to. Also is a good trustworthy Christian man. Just thought he deserved a pat on the back, although he would say he doesn't because he's

So, here's a great big thank you from all the people who you have helped over the years!
We all appreciate you!!!

Smoker Friendly...oh where do i begin..not so friendly, wait is too too long, never have what i want on the shelves. One does NOT wait on people, she will come out of the back and tell you that they will be right with you and go back into the back, what's up with that? On busy weekends they only have one person or if they have two people, then only one register is open, again, what up with that? When they do get a good employee that knows what they are doing and is FRIENDLY, they seem to not last long, again, what's up with that?

Dairy queen has always been good. So has smoker friendly. Except for some rude customers in front of me in line I don't really remember any bad experienced at either place
